Darren Doyle, story and photos: One man was sent to the hospital earlier today after a rollover crash involving two vehicles, according to the Brownsville Police Department. Brownsville PD received a call regarding an injury accident around 8:39AM that had occurred on South Main Street in Brownsville, in front of the Minit Mart. Police said that 2017 Nissan van operated by Mathew Bayer (32) of Smiths Grove collided with a 2001 Ford Pickup operated by Wilmer Webb (45) of Cave City in a rear end manner. According to police, Webb’s vehicle overturned upon impact, striking a fence and coming to final rest on an earth embankment located on Minit Mart convenience store property. Webb was transported to TJ Sampson Community hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said. Bayer was reportedly uninjured. Brownsville Police Department was assisted on scene by Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, Edmonson EMS and Brownsville Fire Department.

Darren Doyle, story: Both U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie and State Representative Michael Meredith have filed for re-election to their respective offices. Guthrie, who has represented Kentucky’s second congressional district since January 2009, filed for reelection on Wednesday, November 10th. Meredith filed for re-election today to represent Kentucky’s 19th House District, which includes Edmonson County and part of Warren County. Meredith has held the seat since 2011. More candidates have filed for offices in Edmonson County. Currently, the following individuals are now seeking offices in county elections, with the primary election scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 2022: Judge-Executive: Jordan M.
