Dear Mongoose,
I read on the Voice that the sheriff wanted everybody to shut off their fireworks at 10. I work hard for my money and if my kids want fireworks after 10 they ought to have it. Why is my neighbor's quiet time worth more than my fireworks time? Dear My Way or the Highway, Half the questions I get these days could be answered by reading a Berenstain Bears book. Compromise, my friend...It keeps us married, keeps us healthy, and lets us see both fireworks and sleep. I guarantee there's some commie out there that doesn't want you shooting your hoosker do's and hoosker don'ts, even before 10pm. They'd rather you just light some snakes and sparklers so they could watch their Bernie Sanders speech in peace. They don't mind if you set off your screaming cheetah wheelies before the news starts, but in their defense, some of us do have to get up and go to work early or get up early and get their monthly check out of the mailbox. --MG
