Bass fishing has been good. The topwater bite is getting cranked up for the summer. Buzzbaits in white, black or chartreuse and jr spooks in silver flake or bone and pop-r's in silver/black or bone are all good choices. Rocky points are good locations to find bass early and late for the topwater bite. When shopping for a topwater rod, I would recommend the Cabela's jerkbait/topwater rod. Designed specifically for this technique. Shorter handle and a soft tip with plenty of backbone. Finesse worms in green pumpkin, melon/red have been good. Try a neko rig with a Cabela's go-to stick bait. A molded in "o" ring makes rigging easy and catches multiple fish on one bait. White bass fishing is fair. Finding schools of bait over deep water is key to finding the fish. A tail spinner or large rooster tail is good for catching deeper white bass. The lake is clear, a bit above pool and in the low 80's. There are several fishing activities going on at the Bowling Green Cabelas this and next weekend. Come on out! Wear your PFD and take the family fishing. Edmonson Voice Staff Report:

The Edmonson County Wildcat Band is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser from June 1, 2018 to August 1, 2018 to raise funds for the 2018 Marching Band Season.
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send to her son to law school. "We are excited about our shoe drive," said Nicole Lindsey, Fundraiser Coordinator. "We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us. By doing so, we raise money for The Wildcat Band and we have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. It's a win-win for everyone.” By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to the Edmonson County Wildcat Band, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives around the world. Drop-off locations for June are scheduled as follows: June 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm during Spirit Night at Mis Amigos Mexican Grill in Brownsville, KY.
