Mossie Skaggs Sanders, 84, of Mammoth Cave, KY, departed this life on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Louisville, KY. The Edmonson County native was born September 30, 1929 to the late James R. and Rose Nell Vincent Skaggs and was the wife of the late Essie Carter and the late Elmer Sanders. She was a retired assembly line worker for GE and a member of Harmony Eastern Star in Louisville, KY and Ollie United Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Cary R. Carter (JoAnn) and David E. Carter both of Louisville, KY, Anthony R. Sanders (Lana) of Mt. Washington, KY and Mark S. Sanders (Debbie) of Shepherdsville, KY; one daughter, Karen Rose Simon (Ronnie) of Louisville, KY; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Randel S. Sanders; three brothers, Rome, Ralph and Rondle Skaggs; two sisters, Mable Rich and Jean Jaggers and one great-great grandson, Hunter Varble. Eastern Star service will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Ronald Renfro and Bro. Jerry Patton with burial in the Ollie Cemetery.
