Alford's Pharmacy has announced several changes to their services as a result of COVID-19, which includes closing of their lobby on March 17th, but is also offering additional options to service their customers.

The full statement is published below:
Alford’s Pharmacy & Drive-Thru is committed to the safety and care of our community. We have an obligation to our patients and staff to continue to provide the best care possible. We already follow strict guidelines in place by the CDC for infection control and OSHA safety, however we are taking additional precautionary steps during this time of uncertainty.

We will continue to remain open with normal business hours. However, we are implementing some changes to protect both our patients and staff which may be inconvenient, but your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we try to limit exposure.

We have made the decision to temporarily discontinue use of our lobby beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice. Our drive-thru will remain open like normal, with additional parking spaces to be utilized as curbside service. When you come to the pharmacy’s front door you will be greeted by a staff member wearing mask and gloves who will assist you concerning your needs. If you choose to wait you will be asked to wait in your vehicle. If you choose to return you will be asked to utilize our convenient drive-thru service at that time.

We will continue our county-wide delivery Monday - Friday, however we do ask that any request for delivery be made when absolutely necessary. At this time this service is reserved for patients who are at the highest risk, as we will be physically limited on the amount of deliveries we can complete daily.  Please consider your loved ones and neighbors when requesting this service. In addition to delivery, we can also mail prescriptions to your home, typically receiving those orders in 1 - 2 business days.

If you have not set up the Alford’s Pharmacy & Drive-Thru app for each patient in your family, we encourage you to do so. This is a convenient way to request refills and is a safe/secure way to communicate with our staff via text messaging. All concerns/questions will be addressed over the phone or texting via our app. We encourage any patient requesting refills to be proactive by calling or texting. This will enable us to have your order ready when you arrive at the pharmacy and will reduce your wait time. We appreciate your understanding and patience while we continue to provide the best care for you and your family.

Rest assured, we are closely monitoring this rapidly evolving situation and are working to ensure you have the adequate care you need.

If you feel as if you have been exposed to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) you may contact the KY Department of Health COVID-19 Hotline (800) 722-5725 for further information.

Please remember, wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, and use common sense.
