Darren Doyle, story and photos: A rollover crash involving two vehicles occurred this morning at the junction of KY HWY 259 (Veterans HWY) and KY HWY 3021 sending an elderly Brownsville man to the hospital around 7:15am. According to the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office, Clevie James, (90), of Brownsville, who was driving a 1993 Toyota pickup, pulled into the path of Audrey Meredith, (22) of Sweeden, who was headed south on KY 259 in a 1992 Honda Accord. A man from Falls of Rough walked away from a rollover crash in the predawn hours of Friday, December 1, 2017, according to local officials. The Edmonson County Sheriff's Office said that Christopher L. Nelson (31) was headed east on KY 728 (Nolin Dam Road) when he lost control of his 2005 Chevy Silverado pickup around 5am this morning. Officials said the truck left the roadway and overturned. Nelson reportedly was able to unbuckle his seatbelt while upside down and crawl out the busted rear glass of the truck. The only injury he reported to the Sheriff's office was a slight headache, according to officials. Nelson was quoted on scene by the Sheriff as saying, "God was definitely looking out for me." Wet roads were said to be the contributing factor in the accident. Also responding to the scene was the Kyrock Fire Department and Edmonson EMS. |
