Congressman Brett Guthrie, who has represented Kentucky’s second congressional district since January 2009, filed for re-election on Monday, according to a spokesperson from his Bowling Green office.
Guthrie is an Assistant Whip for the House Republican Conference and serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee as Vice-Chair for the Subcommittee on Health, and as Chairman of the Education and Workforce Committee’s Higher Education and Workforce Development Subcommittee.
Guthrie’s September 30 campaign finance filing showed more than $2 million on hand for his re-election effort.
The Bowling Green Congressman will be seeking his 6th term.
