The Edmonson County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident at Luttrell Farms on Morgantown Road yesterday around 1pm when a Bee Spring man ran off the road and crashed into the business's sign.
Sheriff Shane Doyle reported that Timothy Decker, (46) said that he was traveling west on KY HWY 70 in a Chevy S-10 when he reached down for a pack of cigarettes. According to Doyle, Decker said he ran off the shoulder of the road, over corrected and crashed into the Luttrell Farm sign.
According to the sheriff, witnesses at the scene said the man asked for no law enforcement to be called to the scene, but the call had already been made. Doyle said the man had slurred speech and was administered field sobriety tests. Doyle said that Decker showed multiple signs of impairment and the man eventually admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day.
