Darren Doyle, story
Edmonson County High School boys basketball coach and teacher Mike McClintic, more commonly known as "Coach Mac" is recovering from a mild stroke he suffered yesterday, according to family members. His family also said that Coach Mac was taken to the emergency room due to shortness of breath around 4am on Tuesday. He apparently suffered a mild stroke after he was admitted to the hospital. His wife, Teresa McClintic, also a teacher at Edmonson County High School, said that tests are scheduled to be performed on Coach Mac's heart around 8am on Thursday and doctors will decide what to do according to the results. "We have appreciated the visitors so much," she said. "We're also very sad that several people weren't allowed to see him due to visiting hours." Mrs. McClintic said she and her husband are in need of prayer. "Mike and I both love our jobs and we love our 'kids.'" Coach Mac, who led the 2016-17 Wildcats to their first district championship in 24 years, is highly respected by his players, students, and fellow faculty members.
