County Attorney J.B. Hines reported that Edmonson County has moved up again in child support collection ranking to 38 statewide. Hines said that the county was ranked at 91 out of 120 in January of 2016, for a 53 spot improvement since that time.
He also reported that his office has hired a new assistant county attorney, Mr. Richard Jackson, and that Jackson has already been an asset to the office. Jackson is originally from Monroe County.
Hines said the new assistant has experience in bankruptcy, organization, and open record meeting laws. He said the new assistant would also work on collecting delinquent property taxes.
