Darren Doyle, story:
A Louisville-area man has died as a result of an ATV crash early this morning at Blue Holler Off-Road Park, according to Kentucky State Police Post 3, in Bowling Green. Troopers responded to a call of an ATV fatal collision that occurred at the park, located at 5410 Nolin Dam Road, where they reported that 30 year-old Adam Jones of Fairdale, KY, was operating 2020 Polaris RZR on an unlit trail in the Blue Holler Off-Road Park. According to KSP, Jones lost control of his vehicle, causing it to exit the trail and overturn several times. Jones, along with a passenger in the vehicle, 22 year-old Lukas F. McCoy of Fairdale, were ejected from the ATV, KSP reported. Adam Jones was pronounced deceased on scene by the Edmonson County Coroner. Lukas F. McCoy was transported to The University of Louisville Hospital where he is in stable condition. A third passenger in the vehicle, 22 year-old Megan Hayden of Pleasureville, Ky, sustained no injuries. The ATV park hosted an event this weekend called the "Redneck Rave." According to Redneck's Rave's Facebook page, the event is described as "America's wildest & craziest Country party." The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Aaron Hampton. He was assisted on the scene by Lincoln Fire Department, Edmonson EMS, and the Edmonson County Coroner.

This is all blue holler is good for. These people have took a good community and turned it into one giant nasty party. Another person has died but i guess its worth it if everybody else has a good time. So shameful

In response to the 2 comments. I guess per your reaction, we should do away with cars, planes, ect. I can understand some of your aggravation, but given the fact that Park pays more in taxes then any other businesses combined in that community You should be grateful. This is a place for people to come and enjoy the scenery. No different the your beloved Horse parks. Its a beautiful park that does an exceptional job keeping their place clean and safe. An accident can happen anywhere. You could fall in your home and have tragedy happen. Yes there was a motor vehicle involved, but it wasn't the park or the owners fault. Take a moment to look at the bigger picture.

I'll tell you exactly why it's trash. I took my son and daughter out there a couple months back and there was some sort of redneck party going on there that we had no idea about. There was more naked boobs there than at a mammogram convention. Beer cans everywhere, stupid, drunk rednecks screaming hell yeah all over the place. Nothing close to a family place. We tried to ride about 30 minutes and decided we had to go. Pure trash.

So your problem is with the event that was being held. NOT THE PARK. Those events are hosted by outside sources. Just as if a venue is rented for a party. Those events are clearly listed and promoted all over social media and the Parks website. Don't like an event, stay away that weekend. Im sure you've been there several times and will go again. Again, your problems are with AN EVENT THAT TOOK PLACE.

I have to agree with you. A lot of the parks that we go to do a lot to try to ensure the safety of others. We, as riders, have to use common sense when operating these machines. Just like anyone driving a car down the road. Accidents can happen. It is sad for anyone to lose their life in any type of accident. It is obvious these guys did not have seatbelts on. I would assume the lady in the backseat had hers on, that’s why she wasn’t ejected from the machine. Parks have rules it is up to the people attending events or just coming there to ride to obey those rules. It is hard to police everyone all the time.

Grateful for what? Destroying the landscape, causing erosion, not to mention driving all the wildlife out and destroying their homes and food supply. Tell me more about how the parties ,half naked women, all the trash and beer cans and what ever makes it beautiful. I’m sure all the riders cruse around at a safe speed and you have traffic lights up. Oh isn’t Edmonton Co. a DRY county?

The park originally opened with the entrance on Nolin Dam Road. The park shut down for a time, then reopened with the entrance on Ollie Road. The off-road park has completely devastated a beautiful natural habitat that included one of the largest stands of natural blue spruce in the country. I don't understand why the EPA has not stepped in to monitor the damage to the creeks, and water sources. Next week, October 11, Trace Atkins, country star, is scheduled to be there. Can you just imagine what it will be like?

Why was this event even allowed to take place? I'm sure there was no social distancing involved! It should have been cancelled. And all these people who come to the park take over the local roads when they are here, driving their 4 wheelers on the main roads. They come and leave pulling their trailers at high speed and drive carelessly. I wish they would close this park for good!

You are right you should know your limits and I don’t believe alcohol is legal there is it? No matter it is the owners responsibility. I’m not bashing anyone just telling it like it is.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s the PARK or OUTSIDE SOURCES. It is the responsibility of of them to see to it all customers obey the safety rules. I don’t care where it is promoted it’s still your responsibility. How was this promoted? A big PARTY RIGHT? I’m sorry some one died and people hurt, but wha it boils down to is it’s themanagement of the parks responsibility to keep everyone safe. Never been to this park, But I was raised there around Blue holler.

Sad that the place was reopened, one of the worst impacts is on the bylew creek, as paddlers who travel the Nolin river through the park can see. The once beautiful bylew creek went from being sky blue water year round to the horrible muddy sludge that changes the color of Nolin river from the confluence of Bylew on to Green river and beyond. The once abundant and now endangered hellbenders who made bylew their home is now destroyed and you cannot find the species there. I have travelled Nolin river for the pat 40 plus years and the worst thing to happen to it was the Atv park.
