Darren Doyle, story: photos by Charlie Peck: Four different local fire departments responded to a house fire located near the intersection of Stockholm Church Road (KY HWY 1352) and Paul Burba Road but were unable to save the structure on Thursday, around 11am. The house was owned by Mr. Don Estes of Louisville and had been in the process of being remodeled, according to Lincoln Fire Chief Steve Sanders. Chief Sanders said he arrived on scene within 2-3 minutes of the call from the dispatch center but the house was fully involved upon his arrival.
"We contained the fire to the area but that's about all you can do when fire is already through the roof," said Sanders. "Our main concern was seeing that everyone was ok and luckily no one was there at the time." No official cause of the fire was given and there were no reported injuries. The house was a total loss. Responding to the scene were the Lincoln, Kyrock, Brownsville, and Chalybeate Fire Departments.
