Fiscal Court Recap, January 9, 2023: Interim County Road Supervisor Appointed

Today, January 9, 2023 was the first regularly scheduled Edmonson County Fiscal Court meeting of the new year. The meeting was called to order by Judge Executive Scott Lindsey with the pledge of allegiance, followed by the standard reports from county offices.

County Attorney Adam Turner reported that he does not have a physical office to operate out of at this time, causing him to be out of reach from the office phone. He wanted the public to know that he hopes to be fully operational in one to two weeks.

Judge Executive Scott Lindsey appointed Joe Joe Montgomery as the interim Road Supervisor. "Joe Joe has been the assistant Road Supervisor for the last four years, and I think it makes the most sense to let him go ahead and fill in this role until someone else is hired full time," Lindsey said. The vote to approve the appointment was unanimous.

There were no other major discussions on today's agenda. The court voted to:

• Approve to waive rental fees for DAV Community Center rentals. March 25, May 29, September 16 and October 14 or October 21.
• Approve to waive rentals fees for Lions Club Community Center rental for the Christmas Parade on November 25th .
• Approve to advertise Road Supervisor/Foreman position.
• Approve to advertise Sheriff Vehicle Bid.
• Approve to pay County Attorney, Adam Turner $750 monthly rent.
• Acknowledge BGWC November Shelter Directors Report.
• Acknowledge BGWC December Shelter Directors Report.
• Acknowledge Dog Control December CAD Report.
• Approve Kentucky Ambulance FY24 Grant Application.
• Approve January Cash Transfers.
• Approve Treasurer’s December Monthly Settlement Report.
• Approve Judge’s Quarterly Financial Report.
• Approve County Clerk’s December MVAV Collection Report, pending final audit.
• Approve County Clerk’s December Deed Transfer Tax Report, pending final audit.
  
• Approve County Clerk’s December Excess Fee Report, pending final audit.
• Approve County Clerk’s December Delinquent Tax Collection Report, pending final audit.
• Acknowledge County Clerk’s December Clerk Storage Fee Report, pending final audit.

The next fiscal court meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
