Four people are facing marijuana charges after a complaint of a suspicious vehicle was called in to police. On New Year's Eve, at approximately 9:00 pm, officer Garth Avery with the Brownsville Police Department along with Sheriff-Elect Shane Doyle and Deputy Wally Ritter responded to the complaint of a truck pulled in behind an office building in Brownsville.
Officer Avery approached on foot while the deputies approached in their car. One of the passengers in the truck fled on foot, and the truck then attempted to pull out. Sheriff-Elect Doyle blocked the truck in, and located four more passengers in the truck. Deputy Ritter found a small bag of marijuana in the truck bed, and after searching the truck, more marijuana was found inside the truck.
Charged were Zachary Hogan, Jordan Watt, and Gary Foley, all 18 years old. A juvenile will also be facing charges. All were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
