![]() Edmonson Voice Staff The Brownsville City Police Department responded to a call of an abandoned vehicle located on Carder St on Tuesday, July 28. Area residents said the car had been there for some time with no activity, no one knew who owned it, and wanted it removed. Police then called a towing company to have the vehicle, a 1994 BMW, towed from its location. Police said once the car was towed to the company's lot, the towing company had to access the engine compartment in order to disable the vehicle since it was locked. That's when the tow truck driver reportedly found several syringes stashed in the fuse panel of the car and called police again. Officers then obtained a search warrant and that's when they reportedly found 5 methadone pills, a small bag of heroin, several more syringes, and more drug paraphernalia. "As far as we know, this is the first time heroin has been discovered in Edmonson County," said BPD Officer Nathan Dennis. Police say they have a suspect in the case and the investigation is ongoing. We'll have more as details become available.
