Several Attend Live Event, Thousands Watch Video Stream Moriah Peterson, photos:
There was a great turnout at the first ever Edmonson Voice Meet the Candidates event, on Friday night May 4th, hosted by D93's Tony Rose. Two dozen candidates came to speak to the live audience and the thousands watching through live video stream. The video feeds had already been viewed more than 7,000 times as of Sunday evening. Most incumbents discussed their accomplishments and focused on continuing their work while challengers spoke to changes that some felt were needed. Races with the most interest seemed to be the District 19 State Representative, County Judge Executive, and Sheriff. The State Rep seat is currently held by Edmonson County native Michael Lee Meredith (R). He is challenged by republican candidate Brian K. Strow, from Bowling Green, and democratic candidates Jacob Moore from Brownsville, William "Bill" Fishback, from Bowling Green, and Daniel Johnson, also from Bowling Green. Judge Executive Wil Cannon (R) is seeking re-election and is being challenged by current District 6 Magistrate Mark Woosley (D). The Sheriff's race has several challengers as well with democrat Pat Haycraft and republican opponents Kenneth R. Heath and Amanda Coniglio, who are all running against republican Sheriff Shane Doyle. Charles Pendelton is also running as a democrat but did not attend the event.
