Frankfort, KY – Today, Representative Michael Lee Meredith filed for re-election to continue his pledge to promote open and honest government and protect the freedoms that we all hold dear. “It’s been a privilege to serve the people of Edmonson and Warren County in Frankfort,” said Representative Meredith. “Together we’ve accomplished much, but there’s still work to be done. That’s why I’ve filed for re-election today. We must continue our fight for efficient and effective state government and lower taxes, and fight against the overreach that we’ve seen from Obama’s Administration.” In the 2014 election for District 19, Michael Meredith won by an overwhelming 62.4 percent in the newly formed district. He was endorsed by National Rifle Association, the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, The Kentucky Educators Association, and the Fraternal Order of Police. In addition, Meredith was given the “Friends of Cities” Award by Kentucky League of Cities and was the recommended candidate by Kentucky Right to Life. Rep. Meredith looks forward to continuing his work to increase funding for volunteer firefighters, protect our rural churches from government overreach and provide new tax exemptions for farm families across the state in the 2016 General Assembly. Representative Meredith said that the support he received in Edmonson County during the last election was very humbling. "Winning any election is humbling, but the support that the people in our district, and especially in Edmonson County last year was overwhelming."
