Phone Scam Coming From Bowling Green Police Number

Bowling Green Police are warning citizens from the area to be advised of a series of strange phone calls coming from the phone number 270-393-4244, which is a number that belongs to Bowling Green Police.

According to reports, the caller tells them a fraud investigation is being completed and the citizen owes money. BGPD said this is an obvious scam and for citizens to disregard the call. Folks are reminded to never give any personal info to anyone over the phone as any credible organization can verify personal info with you and will usually contact you via postal service or verified email in the event of a problem. Officials also say that if something sounds off, or a situation that's too good to be true, it probably is.
