Edmonson Voice Report: A Leitchfield man has been arrested and faces fleeing and evading charges after leading law enforcement on a chase after he failed to stop for officers, according to the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office. According to a press release, a sheriff's deputy observed a 2005 Kia van disregard a stop sign at the intersection of Wilderness and Nolin Dam roads. The deputy reportedly followed the vehicle and when it crossed over into the opposite lane of travel, the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, Arthur Bratcher (51) of Leitchfield, reportedly did not pull over or stop for lights or sirens, but continued on, accelerating to speeds of 80+ miles per hour. After a short pursuit, deputies said that Bratcher eventually pulled over, and upon making contact with Bratcher, the deputy said he smelled the strong odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle and Bratcher showed evident signs of impairment.
