Edmonson Voice Staff Report:
Santa's Helping Hands, INC., has released a statement that outlines the requirements for receiving assistance from the non-profit organization, in addition to answering some program questions that S.H.H. received this week.
We do have a few rules in order to get assistance from Santa’s Helping Hands. Please read the following guidelines before applying for assistance.

  1. YOU MUST LIVE IN EDMONSON COUNTY OR YOUR CHILD ATTEND AN EDMONSON COUNTY SCHOOL.
  2. YOU CAN NOT RECOMMEND SOMEONE, THEY MUST WRITE THE LETTER THEMSELVES.
  3. LETTERS CAN ONLY BE SENT TO THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER AT ANY OF OUR SCHOOLS, LIFESKILLS, COMMUNITY ACTION, OR BROWNSVILLE DAYCARE.
  4. LETTERS MUST INCLUDE PARENT’S NAME WITH CONTACT NUMBER, CHILD’S NAME, GENDER, AGE, SIZES IN SHOES, PANTS, SHIRTS, ETC AND WHAT INTEREST THEY HAVE.
  5. IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT IN SCHOOL, THE LETTER STILL HAS TO BE SENT TO ONE OF THE ABOVE ORGANIZATIONS.

Clarification: Santa's Helping Hands, INC., and the programs we work with are not directly associated with the new Affordable Christmas Program being offered through what was formerly known as the school system Angel Tree Program. While we work closely with them and support their program, Santa's Helping Hands will operate as we always have.

  • All names of children/families are kept confidential. Shoppers only see a code, gender, age and sizes.
  • We do not buy Xbox, Playstations, similar gaming consoles, etc.

  • THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WANTING ASSISTANCE AND TRULY NEEDING ASSISTANCE.
The deadline for application letters is November 21, 2019.

For additional questions please contact Mark Wardlow of SHH, INC., at 270-991-2972.
