Strong Thunderstorms Bring Minor Damage In Brownsville

Strong winds blew through Brownsville Thursday afternoon and caused minor damage around town. Country Bouquet Florist saw their front sign blown several feet and tossed through the side of their building.

Other parts of town had several limbs and branches down and the little league fields at HWY 70 were underwater as around 2.5 inches of rain fell during a very short period.

A leg of the Country Bouquet Florist sign comes to rest through the wall of the building.

The leg of the floral shop sign went through the side of the building, not only puncturing the vinyl siding but also the outer and inner walls.

District 2 Constable Tim Skees said that oak 2X4's in the shop's wall were snapped in half from the sign.

The Brownsville Manor sign sits on the ground after it was blown off it's posts.
