Darren Doyle, story:
A Brownsville woman was arrested on multiple charges that included a felony cocaine charge, according to a press release from the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office. The release stated that on November 8, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., deputies observed a black Hyundai sedan traveling on Veterans Memorial Highway with a non-illuminated rear registration plate. According to the release, a traffic stop was initiated, and the operator was identified as Shannon Schilling, 49, of Brownsville. "During the stop, deputies observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. Standardized field sobriety tests were administered, during which Mrs. Schilling exhibited signs of impairment," the release stated. The release further stated that K9 Tatiana was deployed for an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. "A subsequent probable-cause search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana, THC vape products, suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia," the released statement said. Schilling was placed under arrest and transported to the Hart County Jail.
