A Mammoth Cave man has been arrested and faces felony drug trafficking charges after an incident on Saturday night. The Edmonson County Sheriff's Office reported that a deputy observed a vehicle traveling north on KY HWY 259 using an off-road LED light bar with a brake light out at approximately 9:00 pm on March 12, 2022. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver of the vehicle was identified at Michael P. Anderson, Jr. (47) of Mammoth Cave according to the Sheriff's Office. The sheriff’s deputy reportedly smelled the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and advised Anderson of a probable cause search, which resulted in the discovery of a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine and cash, both consistent with trafficking, the Sheriff's Office said.
