Two individuals face drug charges after a public disturbance yesterday in Brownsville, according to a press release from the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office. According to a statement from the sheriff's office, deputies were dispatched to Casey’s General Store in Brownsville in response to a reported disturbance involving a male and female in a red Ford Ranger on Thursday, September 25th around 6PM. The sheriff's office stated that deputies located the vehicle and identified the passenger as Jessica Hoskins, (37) of Leitchfield who stated that the male involved, identified as Justin Sams, (45) of Glasgow, had left the scene on foot heading south. Deputies later located Sams at the nearby Wildcat Car Wash and returned him to the original scene to continue the investigation, police said. According to the release, a K9 unit, Tatiana, was deployed and gave a positive indication on the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a glass jar containing marijuana, an unused methamphetamine pipe, a marijuana grinder with marijuana residue, and a glass pipe containing suspected burnt methamphetamine residue, law enforcement stated. The sheriff's office stated that neither individual claimed ownership of the drugs or drug paraphernalia. As a result, both Hoskins and Sams were taken into custody and transported to the Hart County Jail. They were both arrested and charged with:
