The Edmonson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of an extremely distraught female near the Kyrock substation, just south of Kyrock Fire Department on Friday, May 6, 2016 around 7pm. The caller said the female was walking along HWY 259 and looked to be injured.
Deputies said when they arrived, they saw Natasha Meredith, 35 very upset with a bloody foot. Officials reported that Meredith told them her husband had thrown her from their vehicle and left her on the side of the road, and that she had sustained an injury in the incident. Deputies said they could tell the woman had been drinking.
The deputies said they went to the couple's residence at Oak View mobile home park in Brownsville and after interviewing the husband and other witnesses, it was determined that the woman had made the story up.
Witnesses also reported that the woman had been drinking most of the day and that she sustained her injuries because she was intoxicated.
She was arrested and charged with Falsely reporting an accident-1st and 2nd offenses, and Public intoxication. She was lodged in the Hart County Jail.
Meredith pleaded not guilty to both charges in district court this week.
