Woman Escapes Injury In Early Morning Rollover Crash

A Smiths Grove woman escaped injury early this morning in a rollover crash on Fairview Church Road in Rocky Hill around 5AM. 

Authorities said that Rebecca Pittman (24) of Smiths Grove was traveling west on Fairview Ch Rd in a 2013 Chevrolet Spark when she told police that she met on oncoming car in her lane, causing her to swerve right.

Pittman reportedly over-corrected, lost control of the vehicle, hit an embankment and overturned. Officials said the use of her seat belt greatly reduced the risk of injury.

Responding to the scene was the Rocky Hill and Brownsville Fire Departments, Edmonson County JAWS, and Kentucky State Police. The investigation was led by Master Trooper Jonathan McChesney.
