Mongoose,
I've never understood why lots of churches around here don't have services every Sunday. If Easter Sunday doesn't fall on a particular weekend, they don't have church on Easter, which to me is absolutely ridiculous! How can they tell me what Easter is all about if they don't even go to church then?? Dear 2nd and 4th, I asked Pizza n Paradise why they weren't open on Saturday nights, they said, "cause nobody came." I think if you look into the history of churches around here, when most were founded there were a lot more churches than pastors. Not to mention a horse, mule or human feet on dirt roads were no match to the efficiency of automobiles and paved roads we have the luxury of today. If a preacher pastored 2 churches on different ends of the county it was logistically impossible for him to make both on Sunday mornings. Today, many churches still share a pastor, who most likely will be at the other church-- which does have church on Easter. Chances are, the people who can tell you what Easter is all about will be there or somewhere that has church.
