I have a theory. I think I have discovered the identity of the illustrious mongoose. I might be wrong and if I am then oh well that would be a first and I will bury my head in my bathwater. I have been reading your no spin answers and I believe your true identity is none other than...nope...not gonna say. Gonna keep it to myself.  And if no one likes it they can head it on down the road.

Dear Scientific Method,
In theory-- in order for a theory to be an actual theory, the theory must be stated,otherwise it is just a thought. I made that up but it sounds pretty good. Let me be the first to clear up a common misconception among readers of not just "Opinion" columns, but any printed or digital piece of literature outside of instruction manuals. There is ALWAYS spin.  Writing is speaking minus the accent. Speak to someone from Rhode Island then speak to someone from Louisiana; it's extremely tough to speak or write without exposing some form of spin, as innocent or overt as it may be perceived. The Rhode Islander may unknowingly lead you to believe New England Clam Chowder is better than Jambalaya without ever mentioning soups or stews. The bottom line is this: we are who we become-- and where we're from, who we're around, and even what we eat, makes us who we are. And that's more than just theory.
