Hey Mongoose
I would like for you to settle an argument for me. My husband says the democrats were the driving force behind the civil rights movement while I say it was the Republican Party. I figured you would know the answer. Dear Google the Goose, If there's one thing I've learned in my own marriage, its that Momma is usually right and if she's not-- I'm better off letting her think she is anyway. If you listen to politicians these days you will have a hard time believing what I am about to enlighten you with. Do you know how many democrats voted for the 13th Amendment in the House? 23% or 100%? What percentage of democrats voted for the 15th Amendment? Both these amendments refer to blacks being citizens and abolishing slavery. I encourage you to do your own research and study history. The reason for studying history is so we don't repeat mistakes. It's painfully obvious we don't study history given the percentage of blacks that vote democrat. Speaking of percentages, zero percent of democrats voted for the 15th Amendment and only 23% of democrats voting to abolish slavery vs. 100% of republicans. Another tidbit, the bill to make voting rights permanent to blacks was actually opposed by the "Congressional Black Caucus"--100% democrat. I could go on and on but you win and unless your husband educates himself he will continue to lose.
