Mongoose,
I'm sure you've already been flooded with questions about it but here's another one for you. How do feel about the rebel flag being taken down? I have to admit it took me by surprise that it happened so quick. My husband has a rebel flag/fish license plate that I've always hated. Frankly I'm glad to see it go. Dear Mrs Billy Idol, With a rebel yell, she cried no, no no...at least 3 people will get the reference. I heard a politician once say "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter", I also heard a relative say "the gay rainbow flag offends me as much as the rebel flag offends some". Hypocrisy is in the eye of the beholder I assume, jump on Amazon.com, (one of the first places the stars and bars were banned), look up ISIS merchandise. Now wait a minute, ISIS definitely promotes slavery and also throws homosexuals off buildings, but you can skip all that and still buy a terrorist t-shirt. The Civil War was fought over more than just slavery, history is history, free speech is free speech. We used to be governed by a document that outlined what could not be done to abridge our freedoms. Now we are governed by fear of offending some group, the same groups who do not enjoy the freedoms they enjoy here elsewhere in the world. "Take that racist flag off state buildings", probably not a bad idea, but let me be the one to decide if I want a '69 Dodge Charger with a rainbow on top, or a red, white, and blue X.
