While no new records were set this year, the annual Cram the Cruiser for Edmonson County Schools was held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at multiple locations to help provide school supplies for Edmonson County students. Cram the Cruiser was set up at two different locations, The Dollar General in Chalybeate and The Family Dollar in Brownsville. Additional businesses offered specials throughout the day where donations were either collected for CTC, or a portion of sales were donated directly from the business that included: Stacy's On Main, South Bound Boutique, Ace Hardware, Chalybeate Food Mart Marathon, Creations by Tracy and Ashlee, Pelicans Snoballs, and Kings BBQ and Burgers. Morgan Esters, Youth Services Center Coordinator, said that around $3K in monetary donations were raised in addition to tons of school supplies, all of which will stay in Edmonson County. Lisa Whobrey, Community Education Director for Edmonson County and coordinator of the event, expressed her gratitude for everyone who helped or donated to the cause. "We truly have the most amazing community," she said. Kentucky State Police, Edmonson County Sheriff's Office, Brownsville City Police, Edmonson EMS and Chalybeate Fire Department assisted with the event.
