​​The Edmonson Voice Mega Prize Hole on number 18 was won by Charlie Turner who put his tee shot within two feet of the cup. Prizes for the hole were estimated around $1000.

"Dad’s BBQ" and "Mark’s Hot Dogs" were in high demand Saturday as over 200 golfers were served with both.

"All of us at Santa's Helping Hands would like to extend a huge thank you to Shady Hollow Golf Course, all the golfers, hole sponsors, and volunteers," said Wardlow. "As with all our events, we couldn't do this without the support of our community. We love returning this generosity back to our Edmonson County families with the assistance we provide to our own that need it most. Once again, we are humbled by the outpouring of support."

Edmonson County High School has announced the candidates for the 2026 Football Homecoming that is scheduled to take place next Friday, September 4th at halftime.

The Edmonson County Fair Pageant is putting in the effort to revitalize the local pageant by separating it from the state-qualifying contest. According to pageant director Melinda Campbell, this allows local ladies to compete in a lower-stress event because there will be only a dress round, with no bathing suit or speaking requirement. 

Campbell said that while contestants will not be judged on community service, winners will be encouraged to be active with civic groups and activities around the area for the year of their reigns. 

Additionally, she said that participating in the pageant is supporting the Lions Club, which is an active community service organization in the county. All profit goes toward the Club’s continued effort to provide a myriad of activities and support to the county. 
 
To encourage participation, Campbell said there are two prizes for the groups with the most entrants. For the team, club, or civic organization from within Edmonson County with the most participants registered (minimum of 5), a $100 will be donated to the group. For the largest group participating from inside or outside the county, there will also be a prize. 

"We would love for this day to be fun and community-building," she said. "The team competition will hopefully help with that."
