Peytin Manor, story:
Recently, the Edmonson County Marching Band competed at the West Regional Championship where they finished with an ECHS all time high score of 75.15. The spark that lit “Caliente” has left its mark in the Edmonson County history books. “I am overwhelmingly proud of my students this season, they have broken the score record for any competitive marching band that Edmonson County has ever had," said ECHS Band Director Patrick Sweazy. "While we didn't move on to the state semi-finals, many people were impressed with our marching band and show this season. Next season, we will look to find another amazing show that will keep people thinking of us. Making an impact at the start of the season that gets people excited for our season. As for the students, we always strive to refine our marching technique and skill to score high in music, visuals, and general effect. This season was especially special for me, because this group of seniors are a very talented group of individuals made up of strong musicians, performers, and leaders.” Kennedy Webb, senior color guard member, said “Being my senior season, I wanted to make sure to savor every moment and it has been extra special because of that. All of the blood, sweat, and tears we have put into this season has made all of us as close as we ever have been. Even though we didn’t make it to semifinals, I am so proud of how hard we have worked and this band is truly my second family.” Even though “Caliente” placed 7th in regionals, each band member walked out with their head held high because they officially rewrote history for the Edmonson County band.
