The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 32 is reopening their claims office on Mondays, starting Monday, March 23, 2026, to provide free assistance to all veterans as their representatives for benefit claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs. The DAV in Brownsville has delivered by providing free assistance to veterans that has assured millions of dollars in earned benefits, medical treatment, and compensation to veterans, families and survivors in Edmonson, and surrounding counties. The office is located at the corner of Washington and Veterans streets right next to Brownsville city hall at 123 Washington Street, Brownsville, KY 42210. Join DAV staff for the reopening of claims on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 10am - 2pm (central time). Call service officers at 270-597-7176 or 270-791-7875 or 270-566-3722 for details. Bring a copy of your DD214 and we will evaluate your claim status. One can also find out more about becoming a DAV Chapter 32 member. "We are also seeking veterans to join DAV Chapter 32 and others to join our great DAV unit #32 Auxiliary in Brownsville," the DAV said in a written statement. "We meet the first Thursday every month at 5:30pm for fellowship. We have a pot luck dinner at 6pm with the DAV business meeting right after. DAV Chapter 32 operates on donations and volunteers only. Members remain busy in the community by supporting annual programs to include their annual car show, Vietnam Veterans Day Program, Memorial Day Program, Veterans Day Luncheon, fruit baskets to Edmonson County nursing home residents and donating to veterans and their families in need.
