Edmonson Voice Report:
The Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce celebrated yet another local member as the newly renovated Mohawk Center held their grand opening on Saturday, June 22nd in Brownsville. Mohawk Center, formerly known to locals as The Mohawk Motel, was purchased January 2023 by Angela and Bill Miller who immediately began renovations to the interior and exterior of the space with goals to offer cozy boutique settings for shops and offices on the ground floor. It's located at the junction of Main and Mohawk Streets. Kentucky-themed spaces have been created on the second floor for vacationers visiting the area. "We were so touched by the community support for our tenants and vendors Saturday from Brownsville and Edmonson County, and look forward to that support with our continued efforts to pour into the community," Angela Miller said. "Please continue to help our lovely shop owners grow and help us fill the additional spaces we have with more entrepreneurs as our growth at the Mohawk Center continues." The head-turning welcome mural at the end of the building was created by Wolf and Bell, commissioned by Angela. Mark Wardlow, Edmonson County Chamber Board member said it was a good turnout from the community. "It was a great day with many showing up in support of the Millers and Mohawk Center," he said. "Not only are we thrilled to have new Chamber Bronze Partners in Mohawk Center, but the Millers are providing even more opportunities for more new businesses in our community, which helps everyone." Angela said they look forward to more events in the future and welcomes any new ideas the community might share.
