SCRTC Names New Board Officers, Trustees At Annual Meeting

SCRTC’s Annual Meeting was held at the Cave Area Conference Center Thursday night, October 16, 2025. Entertainment was provided by The Hornets’ Nest Pickers during the registration process.

The results of the mail ballot trustee election were announced. In District II (Canmer and Horse Cave exchanges) candidates were Incumbent Billy Smith and Robert Thompson with Smith receiving 328 votes and Thompson receiving 500 votes. Robert Thompson was declared elected in District II.

In District V (Temple Hill and Glasgow exchanges) candidates were Incumbent Kevin Bradshaw, Randy Meredith and R. Cary Barrett, Jr. Incumbent Bradshaw received 592 votes, Meredith received 295 votes, and Barrett received 137 votes. Kevin Bradshaw was declared re-elected.

In District VI (Ft. Run, Gamaliel, and Lucas) Incumbent Zack Kender was unopposed and declared re-elected.

During the Business Session the Cooperative’s Secretary-Treasurer, Ralph Thompson reported on the Cooperative’s positive financial status. The Cooperative’s General Manager Jeff Eaton reported on the progress of fiber-to-the-home deployment and President Zack Kender announced that $2.25 million in capital credits will be refunded this year with checks to be mailed in November.

Following the Business Meeting, prize drawings were held and the two grand prizes of 43-Inch Samsung TV’s were won by Mable Marcum and Patricia Kernan. Chester Jones won the $100 cash prize, while Betty Porter received a $100 WalMart gift card. In addition, five lucky winners received Amazon Firestick 4K Max devices. Cash prizes were drawn in each exchange, along with several children’s prizes given away which included two small riding toys, two bicycles, two Lenovo Chromebooks and two Beats Earbuds.

At the Board’s Annual Re-Organizational Meeting Ronnie Tucker was elected as President, Robert Thompson was elected as Vice President, Tim Coomer was elected as Secretary-Treasurer, and Kevin Bradshaw was elected as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer.
