Kentucky Blood Center needs “good blood” and wants to show its’ loyal donors “mad love” for giving – in the form of Taylor Swift tickets, according to a press release from the KBC.
KBC is kicking off its “giving era” this summer by awarding one donor two tickets to Taylor Swift’s Nov. 3 concert in Indianapolis. All donors who give blood at the upcoming blood drive at Mammoth Cave (along with all donors who give blood at KBC May 28 through June 29) will be entered to win the pair of Eras Tour tickets and a $500 Visa gift card to help with travel. All donors will receive a Swift-inspired shirt. Mammoth Cave National Park Wednesday, June 26 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. CST Rotunda Room The Lodge at Mammoth Cave 1 Mammoth Cave Parkway Mammoth Cave, KY 42259 Please note: Online appointments and reminders (emails and texts) are shown and made in EST. For example, if you make an appointment online for 1 p.m., please arrive at the blood drive at noon. According to the KBC, the Taylor Swift giveaway comes at an important time of the year for the blood supply. Blood donations historically dwindle during the summer because of warm-weather activities, family vacations and no school, but the need for blood doesn’t “calm down” – and transfusions often increase over the summer months for those very same reasons. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org. For more information on the giveaway, including full contest rules, visit kybloodcenter.org/taylor-swift-tickets-giveaway. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800.775.2522.
