Zachary Cottongim Memorial Bass Tournament Raises Funds for ECHS Bass Team, Pays Big Prizes10/13/2025 Edmonson Voice Report: The annual Zachary Cottongim Memorial Fishing Tournament was held Saturday, October 11th at Nolin Lake. It was the fourth annual event for the tournament where all proceeds benefited the ECHS Bass Fishing Team in the name of fallen officer Zachary Cottongim. In December of 2021 Edmonson County lost one of their own when Zachary Cottongim was killed in the line of duty while serving the Louisville Metro Police Department. He was a seven-year veteran of the agency. According to tournament coordinator and owner of C&C Firearms and Outdoors Josh Casey, Officer Cottongim's sister Ashley reached out with an idea of a bass tournament in her brother's honor where the proceeds would benefit Zach's high school bass fishing team, ECHS. "Since then it has become an annual event," said Casey. "This year was especially successful. Thanks to several sponsors we were able to offer a bigger prize and attract more fisherman. Once again the people of this community came together to raise over $1400 for the high school team in memory of Zach." Casey said that C&C is honored that the family continues to trust us with this event. "They have expressed to me many times how grateful they are to all the fisherman who show up to keep Zach’s memory alive." The following sponsors helped make the event possible:
