Anna Joyce Gross Blessitt, 84, of Sweeden passed away March 7, 2026 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
Anna was born in Grayson County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Lillie Mae Johnson. She was a member of Smalls Grove Baptist Church in Caneyville and the Jesus First Gospel Singing Group. She worked for many years as the maintenance manager at the Colony Apartments in Bowling Green where she enjoyed working with the elderly residents. Her faith was precious to her and reading her bible was time well spent. The greatest joy of her life was her "Grandbabies". Time with Mamaw Ann meant sweet surprises and lots of hugs and memories. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husbands, Porter Gross and Bernard Blessitt; two daughters, Beverly Gross and Gala Gross; a son, Jimmy Gross; a great granddaughter, Cassidy Richardson; a sister, Jolene Johnson and three brothers, Junior, Cleo, and Earnest Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bee Spring Cemetery. Visitation will take place 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday until time of service. Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Martha Cook (Jimmy) of Bee Spring, Shongia Ashley and Angie Johnson (Charles) of Smiths Grove; a son, Wesley Gross (Linda) of Brownsville; twelve grandchildren, Leslie Clubb (Jeff), Jeffrey Gross (Mandy), Joyce Crabtree (John), Timmy Cook (Dawnita), P Jay Gross (Crystal), Shannon Edwards (Adrian), Josh Cook (Casey), Jimmy Lee Gross, Jeremy Richardson, Courtney Johnson (Allen), Jordan Juett, and Sammatha Campbell (Bruce); twenty four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Welcher of Caneyville; two brothers, Charles Johnson (Martie) of Millwood, Morris Johnson of Caneyville; several nieces and nephews and many extended family.
