Danny Rogers Meredith Jr., 38, of Bowling Green passed away Thursday Dec. 29, 2021 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Warren Co. native was a 2001 graduate of Edmonson County High School. He was a son of Danny Rogers Meredith Sr. of Bowling Green, who survives, and the late Velma Louise Miller Meredith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at New Salem United Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2-7 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Saturday at the church. Also surviving are a brother, Chris Miller of Bowling Green; two sisters, Virginia Ann Miller and Amy Meredith both of Bowling Green; five nephews, Shawn Martin, Daveyon Halcomb, Terryon Meredith, Elijah Garcia and Isaiah Martin; and two nieces, Tashana Hudson and Aubrey Martin. Edna R. Cook, 78, of Poplar Springs departed this life Saturday Jan. 1, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
The devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was born Oct. 24, 1943 in Louisville. At the age of 14, she married the love of her life and lived the rest of her life in Edmonson County. At the age of 17, she was saved in a revival held by Bro. Lawrence Vincent and became a member of Poplar Springs United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Clark. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will take place 12-7 PM Tuesday and after 10:00 AM Wednesday. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, William Cook; a son William Cook Jr. of Poplar Springs; three daughters, Virginia Tipton and Teresa Cook both of Brownsville and Eurica Alexander (Todd Lindsey) of Sweeden; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Cindy Minyard Massey, age 60 of Smiths Grove, departed this life on Friday, December 31, 2021 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on February 22, 1961 to the late William Edgar “Ed” Minyard and Gertie Emma Madison Hill. She married the love of her life, Terry Mark “Moose” Massey, Sr. on May 1, 2016, and together they shared so many wonderful memories, laughs and adventures.
Cindy worked as a floral designer for Madison’s Flowers for over thirty-five years. She was a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church, and most recently attended Boiling Springs Church of Christ. Cindy had a pure, servant’s heart. She saw the best qualities in everyone, and loved to volunteer her time to help with the DAV Auxiliary, Chalybeate Volunteer Fire Department, Edmonson County Rescue Squad and to the Kentucky Emergency Management. Besides her husband, she leaves to honor her memory— her children, Chip Lee of Brownsville, Tiffany Lindsey (Faron) and T.J. Massey (Alex Jane) all of Smiths Grove; five grandchildren, William Lee, Lilly and Laynee Lindsey, Lyla Jane and Tilly Jo Massey; her mother, Gertie Emma Hill (Mike) of Mt. View, AR; a sister, Amy Haycraft (Tracy) of Bee Spring; special sister-in-law, Teresa Cline, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Ray Lee, III and her brother, Danny Minyard. Interment will be in Pine Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
