![]() After a brief illness with cancer, David Dennison departed this life on Thursday, February 26, 2015. The Jefferson County native was 70-years-old and the son of the late James Harlin Dennison and Marion Heyser Gunter. David moved to Barren County as a child and was saved in July of 1958 at Basil’s Chapel United Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Beaver Dam United Baptist Church. He was married to Janet Slaughter Dennison and together they owned and operated Mammoth Cave Transplants Greenhouses and Nursery. David was a true neighbor, friend and active leader in the community. He had a passion for southern gospel music, enjoyed traveling, golfing and he adored the time spent with his family. David retired from SKF Industries in Glasgow; was a Kentucky Farm Bureau Board Member; past president of the Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce; a Leadership Edmonson County and Leadership Western Kentucky Alumni and a past president of the Edmonson County Agri-Tourism Commission. Besides his wife Janet, he leaves to honor his memory— two daughters, Marsha Gentry (Michael) of Cave City, KY and Sherry Maxwell (Eugene) of Lawton, OK; one son, Scott Dossey (Elisabeth) of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren, Emily Gentry, Andrew Gentry, Peyton Maxwell and Ben Maxwell; four brothers, Don Dennison (Mary) of Louisville, KY, Bob Gunter (Gail) of Louisville, KY; Bill Gunter (Melissa) of Louisville, KY and Mark Gunter (Tina) of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Betty Gunter and Linda Gunter, both of Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The Warren County native was a daughter of the late Ekla and Lana Meadows Johnson and is preceded in death by her husband Terry "Tubby" Gravil, a son, Richard "Ricky" Gravil; two brothers, Ellery Johnson and Bert Johnson and a sister, Lucy Kinser. She was a lead operator for Berry Plastics and was of the Baptist Faith. In 2006 she was a proud recipient of a double lung transplant which she received on their 42nd wedding anniversary. The Edmonson County native was born on March 25, 1942 to the late Rev. Gilbert and Virginia Elizabeth Webb. He was married to Anna Katherine Manco Webb, who survives. Big Daddy retired from the U.S. Post Office and was the former owner of Webb- Co, Wildcat Carwash and Lindsey Sanitation. He was also a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church. In addition to his wife Anna, he leaves to honor his memory— one daughter, Alecia Webb-Edgington (Ted) of Covington, KY; one granddaughter, Kathryn “Jill” Edgington of Covington, KY; two brothers, Leonard Webb (Marian) of Crestwood, KY and Johnny Webb (Glenna) of Bowling Green, KY, one sister, Jill Webb Skaggs (Steve) of Brownsville, KY and a multitude of friends. She was born December 20, 1923 to the late Roy and Ollie Vincent Meredith and was the wife of the late John H. “Herk” Vincent, Rev. Laymon Meredith and Marshall H. Goff. She was a bagger for Kane’s Sewing Factory in Leitchfield and a member of Cedar Grove General Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Michael Meredith (Joyce), Timmie Meredith (Donna), Terry Meredith (Alleta) and R.L. Meredith all of Bee Spring, KY; two daughters, Vickie Vincent Marlow of Leitchfield, KY and Yolanda Vincent (James) of Bee Spring, KY; two sisters, Gladys Whalin of Louisville, KY and Willodean Decker of Bee Spring, KY; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren and three great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ollie Evelyn Hayes. Burial will be in Brite-Meredith Cemetery with Bro. Randy Meredith officiating.
