Cullen Blake Hatcher, age 25, of Bonnieville, KY, was called to his eternal home on February 26, 2021. The Hart County native was born on March 25, 1995 to Jerome and Teresa Hatcher, who survive. 

He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where the Lord saved his soul on July 10, 2004.  He often shared that experience trying to help others.
 
Besides his parents, he leaves to honor his memory—his sister, Alexa Hatcher of Bowling Green; paternal grandmother, Sue Blaies (Herb) of Glasgow; maternal grandparents, Tommy Matthews of Bonnieville and Doris Matthews of Horse Cave and his best friend and canine companion, Chopper.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Hershel Hatcher. 

Interment will be in New Hope Church Cemetery.

​Raymond Lawson Davis, 74, of Brownsville passed away at 11:15 PM Thursday Feb. 25, 2021 at his residence.
 
The Edmonson County native was a carpenter. He was a son of the late Hershel Lee Davis and Marcella Nadine Smith Davis. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond L. Davis Jr. and a brother, Phillip Lee Davis.
 
Services will be scheduled at a later date. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
Surviving are three sisters, Faye Lady (Ollie) and Phyllis Sue Gonterman both of Bowling Green and Joyce Ann Wilson (Robert) of Mammoth Cave; and a grandson, Michael Davis of Louisville.

Katy Idella White Nash, 85, of Bowling Green passed away at 1:35 AM Wednesday Feb. 24, 2021 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a member of Richardsville Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late John White and Mattie Dalton White and the wife of the late Nelson Oneil Nash.

​Johnny Ray Elmore, 61, of Roundhill passed away at 6:29 AM Feb. 19, 2021 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Jefferson County native was a mason, a truck driver and a member of Mt. Lebanon Church of Christ. He was a son of Doyle Reed Elmore of Morgantown, who survives, and the late Lola Dale Geary Elmore.

​Leo Wells, age 87 of Bowling Green, departed this life on Friday, February 19, 2021 at  Magnolia Village in Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on July 18, 1933 to the late Roy and Oma Houchin Wells. 
 
Leo was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War era.  He was the owner of Duff and Wells Accounting,  a 1951 graduate of Brownsville High School and a 1955 graduate of Bowling Green Business College.  He was a member of First Baptist Church. 
 
He leaves to honor his memory-- one son, Joshua James Wells of North Carolina; two step-sons, Jeffrey M. Cooke (Janet) of Scottsville and Joey Allan Cooke (GiGi) of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Alison Lile (Steve), Zach Cooke (Malissa), Austin Cooke, Harrison Cooke and Quinton Cooke; seven great-grandchildren, Gracie, Jacob and Sophia Lile, Asher, Lydia and Judah Cooke and Leighton Cooke; an aunt, Violet Wells; his dear friend and colleague, Marie Ellis (Derek) of Bowling Green; four nephews and nieces, Eddie Wells, Christi Russo (Dennis), Angela Wells and Matt Wells and a great-nephew and niece, Chaz Wells and Marjori Russo.  Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Jimmie Wells.

​Dallas M. Self, 49, of Brownsville passed away at 3:37 AM Friday Feb. 19, 2021 at his home.
 
The Edmonson County native was maintenance worker for Plastikon. He was a son of the late Wilbur Self and Dorothy Lucille Raymer Self of Huff, who survives. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paizley Lyon and a sister, Delilah Linfoot.

Donnie Poynter, age 61, of Cave City, departed this life on Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Elizabethtown. He was born on April 17, 1959 in Sterling, IL to the late Billy Thomas Poynter and Martha Smith Poynter, who survives. He was married to Debra York Poynter, who also survives. 

Donnie was a entrepreneur and a member of Northtown United Baptist Church.

Besides his wife and mother, he leaves to honor his memory—sons, Brad Poynter (Ashley) of Cave City and Patrick Poynter (Beth) of Cave City;  stepson, David Carroll of Bowling Green; stepdaughter, Lydia Dowdell of Illinois; four grandchildren, Hadley, Addyson and Graham Poynter and Charlie Carroll; brothers, Ricky Poynter (Debbie) of Horse Cave and Joe Poynter of Hardyville. Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lexi Makenna Poynter and brothers, Bobby and John Poynter.

Dwayne Fitzhugh, age 85 of Sunfish, departed this life on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on August 26, 1935 in Leola, Arkansas to the late Nemon and Merle Styles Fitzhugh.  He was married to his devoted wife and best friend, Barbara Duvall Fitzhugh, who survives. 

Dwayne retired as a terminal manager with Benton Express.  Since retirement, he and his wife have volunteered in the community and been instrumental in operating St. John’s Thrift Store.  He was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- two daughters, Rusti Fitzhugh of Alaska and Karen Taylor of Double Springs, AL; two stepchildren, David Highsmith (Kathy) of Bowling Green and Charlene Lonsbery (Joseph) of Smiths Grove; five grandchildren, Shiloh Dietz, Tyler Fitzhugh, Madelyn Highsmith, Sasha Hardin and Jennifer Meredith; two great-grandchildren, Kayleb Gray and Jasmen Meredith; two brothers, Don Fitzhugh of Pine Bluff, AR and Troy Lee Fitzhugh of Virginia, along with a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by two children, Robin Hoffman and Nathan Fitzhugh; a grandson, Andrew Gray and two siblings, Elaine McKenney and Charles Fitzhugh.

Lonard Lindsey, age 82 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on March 7, 1938 to the late Henry and Ollie Lindsey.  He was married to his devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Alpha Johnson Lindsey, who survives. 

Lonard retired from maintenance with the Edmonson County School System.  He also enjoyed working on his farm.  Lonard was the oldest deacon and a member of  Oak Grove United Baptist Church. 

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- two children, Ronnie Lindsey (Maretta) of Glasgow and Karen Graham (Randy) of Pine Grove; four grandchildren, Desiree Lindsey, Dana Lindsey, Jacob Lindsey and Sarah Davis (Luke); five great-grandchildren, Aison Jennings, Lavendar Jennings, Lily Lyles, Laken Pierce and Violet Davis; three brothers, Leon Lindsey, Glen Lindsey (Susie) and James Lindsey and one sister, Dorothy Logsdon (Billy).  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Pleas Lindsey.

Betty Waddell, age 91 of Mammoth Cave, departed this life on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Genesis Edmonson Center.  The Edmonson County native was born on May 14, 1929 to the late Maude Meredith.  She was married to Hillard Thomas Waddell, who preceded her in death. 

Betty was saved as a young girl at Stockholm United Baptist Church.  She was a housewife and enjoyed babysitting, quilting and helping her husband on their farm. 

She leaves to honor her memory-- her son-in-law, Eddie Cook of Cub Run along with several nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Loretta Cook and five brothers, Carlos, Amos, Wavie, Grayden and Howard Meredith.

​Ronald H. Roof, 74, of Huff passed away at 7:39 PM Thursday Feb. 11, 2021 at his home with family by his side.
 
The Edmonson County native was a farmer, carpenter and a US Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a son of the late Clifford Roof and Ella Miller Roof. He was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Bray; and six brothers, Larry, Randall, Hershel, Wavie, Athel and Bobby Roof.

​James Lewis Yokley, age 78 of Smiths Grove, departed this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.  The Warren County native was born on September 29, 1942 to the late Finley and Ruth Compton Yokley.  He was married to his devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Opal Decker Yokley, who survives.

James was the owner of Yokley Auto Sales, and a former employee of J.E. Bohannon Tobacco Co., Cutler Hammer and TSC.  He was a skillful man, and also worked as a masonry and logger.  James was a trustee of Liberty Hill Missonary Baptist Church. 

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- two children, Jimmy Yokley (Shelia) of Smiths Grove and Tammy Hampton (Craig) of Cave City; four grandchildren, Matthew Hampton (Kassey), Makalla Morrison (Maurice), Sara Beth Yokley and Alissa Stice (Aaron); four great-grandchildren, Jada Knight, Braylon Knight, Isla Kate Hampton and Memphis Aaron Stice; two siblings, Ottis Yokley and Grace Jessie (Dan) and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Yokley.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Leroy Yokley and three sisters, Josephine Obryan, Delores East and Dee Alley.

Martha retired as a factory worker, and was a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church.

​Brenda Ann (Gossett) Rainey, age 57 of Scottsville, formerly of Cave City, departed this life on Monday, February 8, 2021 at her residence. She was born on May 27, 1963  in Tompkinsville to the late Palmore “Joe” Riddle and Joyce Birge Riddle, who survives.  She was married to her first husband of thirty-two years, Gerald Gossett, who preceded her in death. 

Brenda was a Christian, and a former employee of Vanguard Labs and Carhartt.

She was born on August 18, 1941 in Augusta, KY to the late Carlie and Catherine Puccini. She was married to her devoted husband of fifty-eight years, Charles Erb Mattingly, until they were parted by his death on May 21, 2019.   

Margie worked as a homemaker, and took care of the needs of her family.  She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Lawrence Gipson, age 81 of Leitchfield, departed his life on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on April 19, 1939 to the late Walter Gipson and Lillie Mae Elmore Gipson. 

Lawrence retired as a truck driver and was a member of  the Teamsters Local 89 Union.  He was also a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to honor his memory-- his companion, Helen Higdon of Leitchfield; three sons, Arthur Lawrence Gipson, Jr. (Misty) of Shelbyville, KY,  Dwayne Evanyk (Keri) of Cleveland, TN and Wade Gipson of Nashville, TN; two daughters, Teresa Brown (Irvin) of Jamestown, KY and Stella Davis (Lee) of Shelbyville, KY; three brothers, Robert Gipson, Albert Gipson and Lester Gipson (Caroline); one sister, Joyce Webber; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loren Lacy Lasley, age 49, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (February 3, 2021) in Leitchfield.

He was born on September 30, 1971 in Leitchfield, the son of his late father, Leon Lasley and his mother, Oleta Vanmeter Lashley.

He was a carpenter and was employed at Purdue Farms. Loren enjoyed reading, drawing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his grandchildren. Loren was a man with a big heart and would help others when in time of need. He was a member of the Mercy Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Lasley of Leitchfield; his mother, Oleta VanMeter Lashley; two grandchildren, Skyla and Shyloh; and three brothers, Ryan Lashley (Bebra), Rory Lashley (Lora) and Lyndon Lashley. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Lasley.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (February 10, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mike Shelton will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrew Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

Earl J. Vincent, Jr., age 78 of Central City, departed this life on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  The Edmonson County native was born on October 26, 1942 to the late Earl J. Vincent, Sr. and Ozie Farris Vincent.  He was married to the late Anita Vincent.

Earl was a electrician and a member of the Baptist faith. 

He leaves to honor his memory-- his children, Stevie Vincent (Anita),  Billy Vincent and Amy Vincent; three brothers, James Vincent (Yolonda), Victor Vincent (Doris), Joe Vincent (Kathy) and one sister, Linda Mann (Jerry). Besides his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Vincent.
