The Edmonson County native was born on March 4, 1937 to the late Cleo Vincent and the late Mae Luttrell Vincent. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of fifty-eight years Erma Brooks Vincent. He was a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM and Jock United Baptist Church. Tranze was a retired truck driver and spent many years driving a bus for the Edmonson County School System. He spent many years serving the people of Edmonson County where he owned the Broadway Market, Lindseyville Store and later Dairy Queen, where he rarely met a stranger. Tranze was always willing to help anyone in need for that was one of his greatest gifts. Travis was saved November 15, 1954 at Poplar Springs United Baptist Church in Lindseyville, KY. As a young man, he started working with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation in Louisville, KY. During that time, he was a member and deacon of Zion United Baptist Church. He and his family later moved with Brown and Williamson to Macon, GA. Upon moving, he was one of the founding members of Barfield United Baptist Church-- where he remained a faithful member and deacon until his passing. He was the husband of the late Virginia Jean Rountree, who also preceded him in death. He was the owner of Brownsville Auto Parts and a member of Beaver Dam Chapel United Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Rollin Rountree (fiance’ Michelle) of Brownsville; one sister, Marjean Durbin (Joe) of Chalybeate, special friend, Jewell Newkirk of Brownsville and several nieces and nephews. The Edmonson County native was a retired carpenter, a champion dulcimer maker, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ. He was a son of the late Oscar Raymer and Leona Clark Raymer and the husband of the Lahoma Miller Basham Raymer. Ruth C Bryant., age 92 of Kettering, Ohio died February 28, 2016, in Toledo, Ohio where she resided in a nursing care facility.
Born April 27, 1923 in Edmonson County, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Milous and Della Cooke of Brownsville, Kentucky. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Sue (Gregory) Papp of Toledo, Ohio; son Rick (Lynda) Bryant of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren: Josh, Kelly, Teresa, Emily and Laura; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard Bryant, three brothers: James, Howard, and Walter Cooke and two sisters: Irene Pardue and Nell Gibson. Ruth was a longtime member of the Dayton Baptist Temple. She was totally devoted to every aspect of her family, especially the spiritual development of her children. Her love of nature and gardening plus continually engaging in youthful activities made her fun to be with. She amazed family and friends by vigorously jumping on a trampoline to celebrate her 85th birthday. Ruth always had a witty answer to any situation, often sharing a humorous story from her youth in Kentucky to illustrate her point. Family will receive friends 10-11 am Friday, March 4, prior to her funeral celebration. Pastor Jerry Siler will be officiating at the service at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E.
