Ruth C Bryant, 92 (Kettering, Ohio)

3/2/2016

Ruth C Bryant., age 92 of Kettering, Ohio died February 28, 2016, in Toledo, Ohio where she resided in a nursing care facility.

Born April 27, 1923 in Edmonson County, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Milous and Della Cooke of Brownsville, Kentucky.

She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Sue (Gregory) Papp of Toledo, Ohio; son Rick (Lynda) Bryant of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren: Josh, Kelly, Teresa, Emily and Laura; and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard Bryant, three brothers: James, Howard, and Walter Cooke and two sisters: Irene Pardue and Nell Gibson.

Ruth was a longtime member of the Dayton Baptist Temple.  She was totally devoted to every aspect of her family, especially the spiritual development of her children.  Her love of nature and gardening plus continually engaging in youthful activities made her fun to be with. She amazed family and friends by vigorously jumping on a trampoline to celebrate her 85th birthday. Ruth always had a witty answer to any situation, often sharing a humorous story from her youth in Kentucky to illustrate her point.

Family will receive friends 10-11 am Friday, March 4, prior to her funeral celebration.  Pastor Jerry Siler will be officiating at the service at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, Ohio.

Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
