Brystol “Bean” Childress, age 6 of Mammoth Cave, gained her angel wings on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was born on February 2, 2015 to Travis and Rae Childress.
Brystol was a kindergarten student at South Edmonson Elementary School and a special part of Kyrock United Baptist Church family. She loved to sing and dance, and was also a student at All About Dance. Brystol enjoyed playing with her cat Bubble Gum, and was a princess to her big brothers, who she adored. Besides her parents, she leaves to honor her memory-- three big brothers, Preston Travis, Greyson Heath and Braxton Ray Childress; her grandmother, Robin Vincent; aunts and uncles, Renee and Jeremy Porter and Robert Dale and Misty Vincent; along with several cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Rodger Dale Vincent and Kevin Childress. Interment will be in Kyrock United Baptist Church Cemetery. Helen was a former cook at Joy Wells and Kyrock Elementary. She was a member of Beaver Dam Chapel United Baptist Church. She leaves to honor her memory— four daughters, Patricia Madison of Lexington, Pamela Carroll of Bee Spring, Sue Carolyn Baker (Rod) of Brownsville and Georgeann Backer (Jim) of Destin, FL; seven grandchildren, Chad Madison (Cindy), Sara Beth Madison, Nick Carroll (Nora), Matthew Carroll, Rachel Carroll (Kyle), Daniel Baker (Michelle) and Bryan Baker; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Mabel Robinson of Camden, TN. The Louisville native was born on March 25, 1955 to the late Charles Ray Sowders and Dorothy June McCormick.
Michael served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Baptist faith and the Wounded Warriors. He leaves to honor his memory— two daughters, Joyce Marie Bastoni of Montana and Wendy Rose Anderson of Louisville; three brothers, Rick McCormick (Wendy) of Bowling Green, Ron McCormick (Missy) of Mt. Washington and Glenn McCormick (Susan) of Taylorsville; two sisters, Teresa McCormick (Ronald) of South Carolina and LaDonna Smith (James) of Florida; stepmother, Glenda Sowders and several grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael R. Bro. Riley retired as a farmer. He was a member of Union Light Missionary Baptist Church and was an ordained minister. Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- four sons, Glennuale Dale Clark of Cave City, Riley Clark, Jr. (Paula) of Camner, Donald Wayne Clark (Paula) of Munfordville and Barry Clark (Christian) of Bowling Green; one daughter, Janice Faye Clark of Brownsville; two brothers, Everette Clark and Edmond Clark; two sisters, Lorine Spencer (Stanley) and Clorine Logsdon; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Ethel Salee, Ollie Logsdon and Mollie Meredith, his daughter-in-law, Caroline Clark and his grandson, Ricky Clark. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War era. He retired as a manager from Border’s Ice Cream. Robert was a member of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and McClure Masonic Lodge F&AM. He leaves to honor his memory-- two sons, Travis Davis (Rhonda) and Anthony Davis (Teresa) all of Brownsville; three grandchildren, J.B. Logsdon (Natalee), Clay Davis and Jaxon Davis; two great-grandchildren, Tynlee Logsdon and Adlee Logsdon; four siblings, Georgia Johnson, Catherine Vincent, Linda Renfrow and Sammy Parker (Jewell). Besides his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Karli Sha Davis and siblings, Flora Ann Browning, Kenton Davis, Evelyn Carroll, Elizabeth Vincent, Wynelia Cassady and Navajo Vincent.
