Henry L. Rea, 88, of Bowling Green passed away March 27, 2022 at Hopkins Center in Woodburn.
The Flippin, AR native was a retired maintenance supervisor at Bowling Green Vocational Technical School, a US Army veteran and a member of Otter Gap Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Neal Robert Rea and Mary Elizabeth Hollawell Rea. He was preceded in death by two children, Jeffrey Rea and Tina Jones Rea; and two grandchildren, Jade Jones and David “D.J” Jones. All services will be private. He had a passion for gardening that led him to own and operate Graham’s Vegetable Stand for over forty years where he met many customers who became friends. Harvey was also a member of Pine Grove United Baptist Church where he remained a member until his passing. The Jefferson County native was born on August 22, 1954 to the late Charles Louis Bagshaw, Sr. and Geraldine Gore Schnyder. He was married to his devoted wife of forty-eight years, Lyla Bagshaw, who survives.
Charles was the owner of Bagshaw Construction. He enjoyed playing sports, dancing and horse races. However, his greatest love was his family and making memories with them. Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- two daughters, Heather Bagshaw of Indianapolis, IN and Daisha Bagshaw of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Chance Ashley, Kennady Ashley and Paisley Jones; one brother, Timmy Bagshaw (Susan) and three sisters, Janet Basham (Bill), Barbara Rafferty (Gary) and Peggy Riggs. Kelly Dewayne Browning, age 56, of Chalybeate, departed this life on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on December 19, 1965 to Tex Browning of Brownsville and Betty Hester (Harold) of Bowling Green. He was married to Talena Mae Meredith Browning, who survives.
Kelly was a furniture builder for Cassady Cherry Reproduction and a member of the Baptist faith. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves to honor his memory— two sons, Clinton and Cody Browning of Chalybeate; two daughters, Lenetta and Ashley Browning of Chalybeate; seven grandchildren and one sister, Valerie Gordon (David) of Big Clifty. The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of Smiths Grove Shell and Vibbert's Cee Bee. She was a daughter of the late Frank Johnson, Sr. and Clara Ollie Cravens Johnson.
She is survived by her husband: Robert Kemble, Brownsville, KY; 2 step daughters: Jessica Turly and husband, Wes, Shepherdsville, KY and Crystal Wright and husband, Robbie, Brownsville, KY; 2 brothers: Jimmy Leon Johnson, Lafayette, TN and Bill Johnson, Scottsville, KY; 1 sister: Lois Davis and husband, Gary, Scottsville, KY; 5 step grandchildren: Evan Turly, Collin Turly, Austin Cherry, Blake Cherry and Noah Cherry. She was preceded in death by a sister: Joyce Faye Payne and 4 brothers: Ricky Joe Johnson, Frank Johnson Jr., Danny Johnson, and Larry Johnson. Funeral service was February 26, 2022 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Mae Phelps Willis, 84, of Roundhill passed away March 2, 2022 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Butler County native was a homemaker and a member of Big Reedy Church of Christ. She was a daughter of the late James Phelps and Dee Johnson Phelps and the wife of the late Roy Willis. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Clark and four siblings. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Big Reedy Cemetery. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Surviving are three daughters, Sherry Clark (Glendle) of Roundhill, Wanda Gregory (Robert) of Franklin and Gayle Hopkins (Mark) of Georgetown; a son-in-law, Joey Clark of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Erin Mattingly (Michael), Elizabeth Gregory (Dustin), Joey Clark II (Miranda), Jordon Clark and Caitlyn DeLucca (Nick); and six great grandchildren. Mildred Violet Wells Madison, 106, of Brownsville passed away at 2:15 PM Feb. 20, 2022 at Edmonson Center in Brownsville.
The Edmonson County native was born March 7, 1915 in Portland, IN. She was a housewife, an owner/operator of Wells Lumber Company, a charter member of the Brownsville Homemakers and the Edmonson County Homemakers, a charter member of the Edmonson County Historical Society and a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Carl Wells and Flora James Wells and the wife of the late Earl “Pete” Wells and the late Edward Murl Madison. She was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve “Jimmie” Alexander. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 7 at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Brownsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Monday. Surviving are a son, James Earl Wells of Hallandale Beach, FL; two step daughters, Doris Emerson of Rocky Hill and Judy Besser of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Jamie Alford, Kimberly Wells, and Michael Emerson; a niece, Victoria “Vickie” Alexander; a nephew, Larry Skaggs; and a special friend, Janet Dennison.
