Henry L. Rea, 88, of Bowling Green passed away March 27, 2022 at Hopkins Center in Woodburn.
 
The Flippin, AR native was a retired maintenance supervisor at Bowling Green Vocational Technical School, a US Army veteran and a member of Otter Gap Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Neal Robert Rea and Mary Elizabeth Hollawell Rea. He was preceded in death by two children, Jeffrey Rea and Tina Jones Rea; and two grandchildren, Jade Jones and David “D.J” Jones.
 
All services will be private. Burial will take place in Otter Gap Cemetery. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
Surviving are his wife, Betty Bledsoe Rea; four children, Kerry Rea and Vicky Jaggers both of Bowling Green, Toni Rea Burchett of Richmond and Alan Watt (Erika) of LaGrange; six siblings, Juanita Parton, Larry Rea, Roberta Blevins, Hazel Padgett, Raymond Rea and Charles Rea all of Arkansas; and eleven grandchildren, Landon Burchett, Maegan Morehead, Samuel Jones, Jesse Gripshover, Zachary Gripshover, Allison Rea, Alayna Rea, Zachary Watt, Zane Watt, Nathan Jaggers (Amanda) and Kayla Morris (Aaron).

Jessie Blair, age 67, of  Brownsville, departed this life on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on September  6, 1954 to the late Franklin and Kathleen Puckett Blair.

Jessie was saved at Oak Grove United Baptist Church, and remained a member there until his passing.  He was a resident of Genesis Edmonson Center for many years.  He had a quite nature, and was a true friend and neighbor to the residents and the staff.
 
He leaves to honor his memory— a brother, Ervin Ray Blair of Brownsville;  half brother, Robert Horton of Oklahoma; half sister, Joyce Stivers of Cave City; brother-in-law, James Lindsey of Brownsville; nephews, Freddie Lindsey (Doris), Frankie Blair and Robert Lindsey (Joretta) and nieces, Marilyn Simmons (Mike), Angela Blair and Amy Blanke (James). Beside his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister, Gladys Lindsey; brother, James Blair, half brothers, Daymon Horton and Ernest Horton and half sister, Imajean Horton.

Harvey Graham, age 89, of Smiths Grove, departed this life Thursday, March 24, 2022 at his residence. The Edmonson county native was born July 7, 1932, to the late Hughie and Grace Kinser Graham.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Jenkins Graham.

Harvey retired from the Kentucky Department of Highways after many years as a night watchmen. He had a passion for gardening that led him to own and operate Graham’s Vegetable Stand for over forty years where he met many customers who became friends. Harvey was also a member of Pine Grove United Baptist Church where he remained a member until his passing.

He leaves to honor his memory-- his daughter, Lorri Keith (Jake) of Cedar Springs; two grandchildren, Miranda Russell (Mike) of Bowling Green and Shawn Keith of Pig; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Keith , Audrey and Luke Russell. He is also survived by another daughter, Debbie Scruggs (Monty) of Bowling Green along with several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beside his wife and parents, he was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.

LaVane Stanton, age 80 of Clarkson, departed this life on March 24, 2022 at his residence.  The Grayson County native was born on January 21, 1942 to the late Emmitt and Verna Gibson Stanton.  He was married to Margaret Joyce Elliott Stanton, who survives.

LaVane was a auto body repairman and a farmer. He was a member of Ollie United Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- his daughter, Robin Logsdon (Keith) of Clarkson; granddaughter, Keishia Vincent (Rob) of Clarkson; two great-granddaughters, Emma Grace and Paislee Mae Vincent of Clarkson, along with several nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his great-grandson, Dakota Jackson Vincent.

Mrs. Constance Olympia “Connie” Lobb Masterson, age 57, of Brandenburg, KY passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  Connie was a member of Buck Grove Baptist Church and was devoted to her family, especially her son.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. “Greg” Masterson; and her parents, HB Arnold Lobb and Lorraine Stone.  Connie is survived by three children, James G. Masterson, Jr., Mary Masterson and Pam Masterson (Chris) Whicker; three grandchildren, Emerald Eberenz, Thomas Hunter and Saphire Masterson; her mother, Dorothy Lobb; three brothers, Dwayne (Laura) Lobb, Boyd (Carrie) Lobb and Thomas Willoughby; four sisters, Donna (Ron) Vincent, Mary (Roger) St. Onge, Rosa (Tommy) Stewart and Emily (Nathan) Hendricksen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha Smith Poynter, age 78, of Cave City, KY passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at her residence. The Barren County native was born on March 1, 1944 to the late Robert Leonard Smith and Ruby Lee Tapscott Smith. She was married to the late Billy Thomas Poynter, who also preceded her in death.

Martha retired from Dart Container Corporation with over thirty years of service in quality control.  She was also a faithful member of Servant Valley United Baptist Church.

Keith Dewayne “Skip” Matthews, 61, of Smiths Grove passed away at 4:17 AM March 19, 2022 in Bowling Green.
 
The Barren County native was a son of the late Jessie Matthews and Mary Margaret Pedigo.

​Paul Ray Lowe, age 81 of Leitchfield, departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  The Edmonson County native was born on November 21, 1940 to the late Gifford and Ora Rich Lowe.  He was married to his loving wife, Faye Bratcher Lowe, who survives.

Paul retired as a pharmaceutical sales representative from Lakeside Drugs.  He was a member of Sunny Point General Baptist Church, and in most recent years attended Leitchfield United Methodist Church. 

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory— his two children, Tom Lowe (Tina) of Scotland Neck, NC and Rebecca Wyatt (Damian) of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren, Lindsey Lowe, Audrianna Wyatt and Alayna Wyatt; two stepsons, Jeff Bratcher and Jimmy Bratcher (Teresa); three step-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren and two brothers, Richie Lowe and Jim Lowe, both of Bardstown. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Matalyn Lowe and brother, Charles Lowe.

​Jeffrey Jay Moore, age 59 of Glasgow, departed this life on March 18, 2022 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 15, 1962 to Anna Carol Moore and the late George Thomas Moore,  

Jeff was a former sales representative for CED, Inc., and was a member of Fairview United Baptist Church. 

Besides his mother, he leaves to honor his memory-- his children, Mason Isaiah Moore of Brownsville and Madison Shea Moss of Bowling Green; two granddaughters, Claire Emma and Elise Marie Moss and a nephew, Colton Thomas Moore of Greensburg.  He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Terry and Barry Moore, and his grandmother, Paldona Mulkins.

Bro. James Edward “Ed” Lindsey, age 81 of Smiths Grove , passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2022 at Greenview Regional Hospital. The Edmonson County native was born on July 20, 1940 to the late Garfield and Georgia Ethelene Norris Lindsey. He was married for fifty-one years to the late Faye Jaggers Lindsey.

Bro. Ed was a self-employed carpenter. He was the pastor of  Liberty Hill “Dripping Springs” Missionary Baptist Church for forty-two years and remained a faithful member until his passing.

He leaves to honor his memory — two daughters, Deborah Miller (Steve) of Brownsville and Linda Bohannon (Thomas) of Bowling Green; two sons, Jimmy Lindsey (Paula) of Alvaton and Ronnie Lindsey (Jennifer) of Smiths Grove; seven grandchildren, Stephen Miller (Lindsey), Lindsey Bohannon, Logan Vincent, Chasz Bohannon (Elizabeth), Heather LaMastus (Jake), Brandi Lindsey and Katie Lindsey; seven great-grandchildren, S.J. Justin Mills, age 43, of Bowling Green, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green. He was born on August 29, 1978 to John Edward Mills and Vickie Crenshaw Haswell. He lived in Atlantic Beach, Florida until moving to Edmonson County as young boy.

Justin enjoyed life, was fun loving, and free spirited. He was the type of person that was the same wherever you saw him, he loved everyone and everyone loved him. He worked at Jerry’s Restaurant for many years and most recently worked for Walmart. As a young man, he was saved at Cedar Hill United Baptist Church.

He leaves to honor his memory— his children, Samuel Mills, Matthew Mills and Alley Mills; mother, Vickie Haswell of Brownsville; father, John Edward Mills (Joyce) of Gray, Maine; brothers, Terry Jones and Tyler Mills (Morgan) of Bowling Green, along with several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Bessie Crenshaw and Jack and Bee Mills.

Larry Dean Stice, 73, of Park City passed away March 15, 2022 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native enjoyed laughing and joking with others and had several occupations, including working as a funeral service assistant for his friend, Bert Gravil at Gravil Funeral Home and as a truck driver for Stice Brothers. He was a member of Washington Meredith Lodge #355 F & AM and a member of Fairview United Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Sherman Stice and Ruby Elmore Stice. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Patsy Stice; a brother-in-law, Tommy Ashford; and a nephew, Brently Stice.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Light Cemetery. Visitation will take place 11 AM-7 PM Saturday and after 11:00 AM Sunday.

Douglas “Mack” Watkins, 79, of Brownsville passed away Monday March 14, 2022 at his home.
 
The Logan County native was a heavy equipment operator for Scotty’s and Southern Kentucky Concrete and a member of New Home General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late James Watkins and Mary Grimes Watkins. He was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Lynn Watkins and a daughter, Cynthia Adonna Watkins.
 
Funeral services will held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Home Cemetery. Visitation will take place 10:30 AM-2:00 PM Thursday.

Matthew Colby Kessinger, 25, of Bowling Green passed away March 11, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
 
The Edmonson County native enjoyed the outdoors- hunting, fishing, camping, riding his Polaris RZR, and pranking others. He was a son of Dale Kessinger and Jennifer Yvonne Graham Kessinger, both of whom survive. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David Graham, and his paternal grandparents, Erdist Kessinger and Margie Cox Kessinger.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Fairview United Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial to follow in Pine Grove United Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place 11:00AM-7:00 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home, and after 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church.
 
Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother and best friend, Corey Kessinger of Bowling Green; maternal grandmother, Mary Evelyn Graham of Bowling Green; uncle, Martin Graham (Linda) of Pine Grove; aunt, Lori Doyle (Clay) of Cedar Springs; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Ronnie Cline, age 64, of Cave City, departed this life on Friday, March 11, 2022 at his home. The Cave City native was born on June 22, 1957 to the late Thomas and Elise Cline. He was married to his devoted wife, Nancy Cline, who survives.

Ronnie worked in maintenance for the City of Cave City, and retired from Southern States. He was a member of Cave City Church of Christ and Barren County Quails Unlimited.

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- two children, Kelly Bass (Brian) of Glasgow and Greg Cline (Tonya Doss) of Cave City; five grandchildren, Lauren Bass, Shelby Cline, Brayden Bass, Riley Cline and Collin Cline; three brothers, Richard Cline of Glasgow, Veachel Cline (Betty) of Cave City and Mitchell Cline (Rosemary) of Cave City; two sisters, Doris Ogden (Carl) of Glasgow and Teresa Lockett (Jeff) of Hardyville and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brooklynn Bass.

Fonda L. Blanton Miller, 73, of Grassland passed away at 11:55 PM March 10, 2022 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a teacher at Bethel Christian School. She was a daughter of the late Thursby “Thurb” Blanton and Ima Gipson Blanton. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Laverne Blanton, Imagene Blanton, and Judy Tennison; and a granddaughter, Amy Sowders.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at New Home General Baptist Church with burial to follow in Dit Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Sunday at the church and will continue until the time of the funeral. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Orval Thomas Basham, 82, of Leitchfield passed away at 2:00 AM March 8, 2022 at his home.
 
The Edmonson County native was a carpenter for Basham’s Home Repair. He was a son of the late Shelby Thomas Basham and Elsie Reynolds Basham.

Sue Ellen Jaggers Carnes, 75, of Mammoth Cave passed away Tuesday March 8, 2022 at her home.

The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a member of Cove Hollow United Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Leo Jaggers and Ida J. Poteet Jaggers. She was preceded in death by a sister, Clorine Slaughter; and four brothers, Claydean Jaggers, Lennie Jaggers, Albert Jaggers and Dennie Jaggers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cove Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will take place 3-7 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday.

Roger Dale Meredith, 73, of Smiths Grove passed away March 4, 2022 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
 
The Edmonson County native was a construction worker for Fleetwood Mobile Homes. He was a son of the late Elbert Meredith and Becky Brooks Meredith and the husband of the late Beverly Darlene Alvey Meredith.
 
Memorial visitation will take place 5-8 PM March 18 at Gravil Funeral Home. No other services are scheduled.

Freddy Woodward, age 68, of Cave City, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Glasgow. The Barren County native was born on July 29, 1953 to the late William R. and Mae Neville Woodward.

Freddy was retired from Akebono where he worked in tool and die.  He was a member of Cave City Methodist Church where he remained a member until his passing.

He leaves to honor his memory, two sons, Erik Woodward (Jessica) of Smiths Grove and Logan Woodward (Alexis Wilkinson) of Lexington, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Michael Woodward, Chaz Young, Jace Woodward, Carmella Woodward, Rylan Woodward and Rhodes Woodward; brother Jimmy Woodward (Lisa); sister, Billie Mae Clark (Richard); sister-in-law, Janet Woodward; former wife and caregiver, Kathy Woodward. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Timmy Woodward.

Interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.

Kelly Dewayne Browning, age 56, of  Chalybeate, departed this life on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on December 19, 1965 to Tex Browning of Brownsville and Betty Hester (Harold) of Bowling Green. He was married to Talena Mae Meredith Browning, who survives.

Kelly was a furniture builder for Cassady Cherry Reproduction and a member of the Baptist faith. 

Besides his wife and parents, he leaves to honor his memory— two sons, Clinton and Cody Browning of Chalybeate; two daughters, Lenetta and Ashley Browning of Chalybeate; seven grandchildren and one sister, Valerie Gordon (David) of Big Clifty.

Linda Sue Kemble, 58, of Brownsville, KY passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.  The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of Smiths Grove Shell and Vibbert's Cee Bee.  She was a daughter of the late Frank Johnson, Sr. and Clara Ollie Cravens Johnson.

She is survived by her husband: Robert Kemble, Brownsville, KY;
2 step daughters: Jessica Turly and husband, Wes, Shepherdsville, KY and Crystal Wright and husband, Robbie, Brownsville, KY; 2 brothers:  Jimmy Leon Johnson, Lafayette, TN and Bill Johnson, Scottsville, KY; 1 sister:  Lois Davis and husband, Gary, Scottsville, KY; 5 step grandchildren:  Evan Turly, Collin Turly, Austin Cherry, Blake Cherry and Noah Cherry. 

She was preceded in death by a sister:  Joyce Faye Payne and 4 brothers:  Ricky Joe Johnson, Frank Johnson Jr., Danny Johnson, and Larry Johnson. 

Funeral service was February 26, 2022 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens.  

Mae Phelps Willis, 84, of Roundhill passed away March 2, 2022 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Butler County native was a homemaker and a member of Big Reedy Church of Christ. She was a daughter of the late James Phelps and Dee Johnson Phelps and the wife of the late Roy Willis. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Clark and four siblings.
 
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Big Reedy Cemetery. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
Surviving are three daughters, Sherry Clark (Glendle) of Roundhill, Wanda Gregory (Robert) of Franklin and Gayle Hopkins (Mark) of Georgetown; a son-in-law, Joey Clark of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Erin Mattingly (Michael), Elizabeth Gregory (Dustin), Joey Clark II (Miranda), Jordon Clark and Caitlyn DeLucca (Nick); and six great grandchildren.

Mildred Violet Wells Madison, 106, of Brownsville passed away at 2:15 PM Feb. 20, 2022 at Edmonson Center in Brownsville.

The Edmonson County native was born March 7, 1915 in Portland, IN. She was a housewife, an owner/operator of Wells Lumber Company, a charter member of the Brownsville Homemakers and the Edmonson County Homemakers, a charter member of the Edmonson County Historical Society and a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Carl Wells and Flora James Wells and the wife of the late Earl “Pete” Wells and the late Edward Murl Madison. She was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve “Jimmie” Alexander.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 7 at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Brownsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Monday.

Surviving are a son, James Earl Wells of Hallandale Beach, FL; two step daughters, Doris Emerson of Rocky Hill and Judy Besser of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Jamie Alford, Kimberly Wells, and Michael Emerson; a niece, Victoria “Vickie” Alexander; a nephew, Larry Skaggs; and a special friend, Janet Dennison.
