Glenda Gaye Webb Gibson, age 87 of Brownsville, peacefully departed this life with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. The Edmonson County native was born on June 28,1935 to the late Alton and Inez Vincent Webb.  She was married to her beloved husband of sixty-five years, Billy Sanders Gibson, until they were parted by his death on March 12, 2020.

Gaye retired from the Edmonson County PVA Office.  Gaye was saved as a young girl at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church, and later moved her membership to Pleasant Union United Baptist Church. Through the years, Gaye wore many hats, but her most cherished title was being a wife, mom and mammaw to her family, whom she adored.

She leaves to honor her memory— four children, Rhonda Patton (Ed) of Louisville, Jim Gibson (Glen) of Louisville, Cindy Sowders (Rick) of Bowling Green and Carol Abell (Sam) of Nashville, TN; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Gibson of Brownsville; nine grandchildren, Courtney Roggenkamp, Ryan Patton, Andrew Patton (Jennifer), Tiffany Mayse (Levi), Ben Sowders (Shelbee), Morgan Bucher (Austin), Alex Abell, Elliott Abell and Mary Margaret Abell; nine great-grandchildren, Patton, Emma and Cooper Roggenkamp; Garrett and Bristol Mayse and Knox and Pax Patton; Tallulah Jane Bucher and Gibson Marie Sowders; two sisters, Barbara Miller (Ross) and Vickie Davis (Joy), and four loving caretakers, Susan Waldrop, Carol McMullen, Nelda Vincent and Wendy Sowders. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas E. Gibson.

Helen Vance Brown, age 82, of Park City, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Barren County native was born on September 13, 1940 to the late Buford and Vassie Ruth Morgan Vance. She was married to the late Howard Jones and Millard E. Brown.

Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gaming, sports, and watching the Game Show Network. Her greatest enjoyment was her family and spending time with them. As a young girl,  she was saved and baptized at Samson Street Church of God. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She leaves to honor her memory— her daughters, Jolene Keith (David) of Park City, Alice Walker of Cave City and Vetta White (Grover) of Park City; sons, Doyle Jones (Carlene) of Arkansas and Butch Brown (Kellie) of Park City; step children, Pam Glover and Steve Brown; 21 grandchildren;  25 great-grandchildren; brother, Jeff Vance of Park City and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Marvin Jones and Jason Brown; stepsons, Phillip, Rodney and Donald Ray Brown; brothers, Bobby and  James Vance; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Brown.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Cheyenne Louise Stotts, infant daughter of David Stotts and Natosha Hunt of Center, passed away on March 30, 2023 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.  

Besides her parents, David and Natosha, she leaves to cherish her memory— one brother, Rylon William Tomes; paternal grandparents, Phillip Stotts (Melissa) and Marilyn Milby-Jones (Timmy). She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George A. and Deborah Sue White Hunt.

Joyce Jordan, age 88 of Brownsville, departed this life on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on July 2, 1934 to the late Clarence L. Doyle and Evy Doyle Beckner.  She was married to Harold N. Jordan, who also preceded her in death. 

Joyce retired as a caretaker.  She was member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory-- her daughters, Kay Hurt (Mark) of Smiths Grove and Cheryl Sanders (Simon) of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Stacey Jordan, Jennifer Jordan, Jason Sanders, Derek Sanders and Miranda Sanders; four great-grandchildren, Lillian Dean Sanders, Simon Lake Sanders, River Grace Sanders and Jason Lukas Sanders, along with several nieces and nephews. Brittany Dawn Winchester, age 30 of Park City, departed this life on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.  The Edmonson County native was born on November 11, 1992 to Kenneth and Becky Winchester. 

Brittany was a member of Park City Volunteer Fire Department.  She adored all animals and had such compassion on all strays.  She was fascinated with both astrology and astronomy.  Her greatest joy was making memories, sharing laughs and a great firework show with those she loved most.

Besides her parents, Kenneth and Becky, she is also survived by her husband, Nick Billa; two brothers, Kenny Winchester (Laura) and Corey Winchester (Kiley) all of Park City, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Carolyn Sue Bratcher, 76, of Brownsville passed away at 6:05 AM March 28, 2023 at Edmonson Center.
 
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker, a Park Concessions employee, a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church and attended Brownsville General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Paul Johnson and Betty Hope Britt Johnson and the wife of the late Jimmy Bratcher. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ellen Garrett; a brother, Harlan Johnson; a brother-in-law, Barry Bullock; and a daughter-in-law, Gala Bratcher.
 
Funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM Thursday at Brownsville General Baptist Church with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will take place 4-7 PM Wednesday and 10:00 AM-1:30 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home.

John R. Denham, age 96, of Brownsville, departed this life on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on January 8, 1927 to the late Oscar and Lula Denham.  

John was a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum after thirty-five years and was a WWII army Veteran.

Johnny “Joe Dank” Davis, age 81, of Chalybeate departed this life on March 25, 2023 at The Medical Center of Bowing Green. The Edmonson County native was born on July 21, 1941 to the late Rev. John White and Mary Hawks Davis. He was married to the late Margaret Ann Garner Davis and Kathy Logsdon Davis of Chalybeate.

Johnny was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove “Miller Hill” Missionary Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter.

Besides his wife, Kathy, he leaves to honor his memory— daughter, Patty Wells (James) of Chalybeate; grandson, Joseph Wells (Myra) of Chalybeate; son-in-law, Roger Stevenson of Brownsville and brother, David Davis (Alma) of Pine Grove. Besides his wife Margaret, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Davis; brothers, Junior, Carlos, Robert and Frank Davis and sister, Christine Lindsey.

Interment will be in Wingfield Church Cemetery.

Ricky “Squirrel” Vincent, 62, of Brownsville passed away March 24, 2023 at his residence.
 
The Edmonson County native was a member of Fairview United Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Balus Vincent and Estell Duvall Vincent. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Greg Vincent, Terry Vincent, Phillip Vincent and Larry Vincent; and three sisters, Teresia Vincent, Donna Wilson and Vernice King.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will take place 4-7 PM Monday and after 9:00 AM Tuesday.
 
Surviving are a son, Tyler Vincent of Brownsville; a daughter, Jodi Vincent of Whitley; a brother, Rondall Vincent of Indianapolis; five sisters, Barbara Vincent of Rossville, GA, Dee Wilson, Venetta Webb (Donald) and Shelia Meredith (Martin) all of Brownsville and Jan Campbell (Skip) of Glasgow. Bobby Glenn Meredith, 64, of Sweeden passed away at 5:38 AM March 24, 2023 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a carpenter, construction worker, carpet installer and was a Baptist. He was a son of the late Howard “Brad” Meredith and Alene Higgs Meredith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Meredith; a grandson, Noah Taylor; and a great niece, Megan Cooper.
 
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Union Light Cemetery. Visitation will take place 2-7 PM Sunday and after 9:00 AM Monday.

Wendell Garland Sherrard, 69, of Smiths Grove passed away March 20, 2023 at his residence.
 
The Hardin County native was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He was a son of the late Richard Sherrard and Ruby Ray Sherrard. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Sherrard.

Glendle Carter Skaggs, 81, of Lindseville passed away March 15, 2023 at his home.

The Edmonson County native was a truck driver, a security guard, a US Marine Corps veteran, a member of Teamsters Local 89, a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 12, a member of Amvets Post 130 and a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Laymon C. Skaggs and Lorene McGrew Skaggs and the husband of the late Luretha “Lou” Hogan Skaggs. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Robin Sowders Skaggs; two brothers, Wendle Skaggs and Billy Joe Skaggs; and three sisters, Anna Skaggs, Sue Herndon and Linda Spurgeon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will take place 5-8 PM Saturday, including a Final Salute at 6:00 PM, and after 10:00 AM Sunday.

Larry D. Highbaugh II, 52, of Sweeden passed away at 5:46 AM March 13, 2023 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a 1989 ECHS graduate, a construction worker and a member of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of Larry D. Highbaugh of Upton, who survives, and the late Rebecca Stewart Meredith.
 
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday.
 
Also surviving are his fiancé, Dalane Duvall; two sons, Quinton Thomas Highbaugh (Mikayla) of Brownsville and Dakota Scott Highbaugh of Bowling Green; two sisters, Tammy Williams of Brownsville and Deanna Miller of Henderson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Brooke Vincent Bryant, 32 of Brownsville died Friday, March 10, 2023.

The Edmonson County native was a daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend to all, and most importantly a mother of two. She loved spending time with her family, music, animals and being in nature.

Leaving to cherish her memory is her two children, Lila Millay and Jude Bryant; her parents, Billy and Chris Vincent; one sister, Shelby Douglas (Adam); paternal grandparents, Billy and Wilma Vincent; Norman and Wanda Cole; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Darlene Snyder; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dakota LeeKayde Davis, 23 of Smiths Grove died Friday, March 3, 2023 at his residence due to inclement weather.

The Warren County native was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather, Bill Mills; paternal great grandparents Doc and Wilma Davis; maternal great grandmother, Linda Phelps; one uncle, Jeff Carpenter.  Dakota was a member of Smiths Grove Baptist Church.

His survivors include his father, Ronnie Davis, Jr.; his mother Misty Carpenter Price; four sisters, Jasimine Davis, Janea Huddleston, Briella Huddleston and Markah Huddleston; two brothers, Austin and Christion Price; paternal grandparents, Penny Mills Huddleston (Mark);paternal grandfather, Ronnie Davis, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Jenny Phelps Bennett; paternal great grandmother, Mable Mills; paternal great grandmother, Dorothy Parker; special uncle, Chris Davis (Erin) and his furbaby, Echo.

Elva Decker Sanders, 98, of Brownsville passed away at 4:20 PM March 4, 2023 at Edmonson Center.
 
The Grayson County native was a retired employee of Kellwood Sewing Factory, a homemaker and a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Simon Decker and Rhoda Cook Decker and the wife of the late Overt Sanders. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley Vincent and Linda Clubb; two sisters, Nancy Sanders and Hannah Sanders; four brothers, Strod Decker, Calvin Decker, Yean Decker and Eugene Decker; a granddaughter, Tammy Jaggers Duncan; and three great grandchildren, Shannon “Bub” Vincent, Krista Shea Vincent and Gabriel Jase Cook.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place 12-7 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Thursday at the church.
