Theodore Kinser, 84 of Brownsville passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
The Edmonson County native was born January 8, 1941, a son of the late Silas and Effie Ashley Kinser and was preceded in death by his brothers, Malcolm Kinser, Norman Kinser, Travis Kinser, Leroy Kinser and Eddie Kinser; sisters, Milie Self, Marjorie Kinser and Eva Mae Kinser. Mr. Kinser was a member of Asphalt Church of Christ and was an employee of General Motors for 34 years. He loved to sing, tell jokes and to tell stories. Ted enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Kinser; children, Josh Kinser (Ashley) and Tammy Gegenheimer; grandchildren, Kali Gegenheimer, Leighton Kinser, and a host of other family. James Robert “ Fatty” Dennison, 59, of Mammoth Cave, KY passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center, Louisville, KY.
Mr. Dennison was an avid fisherman, construction worker, and jack of all trades. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie & Lola Dennison; two sisters, Mary Cotton and Doris Anderson; one brother, Ray Dennison; and a niece, Lola Kinser. Survivors include four children, Scott (Breanna) Dennison of Wasilla, AK, Michael Dennison of Vincennes, IN, Jessica (Caleb) Dixon of Mamouth Cave, KY, Courtney Dennison (Brett White) of Mamouth Cave, KY; one stepson, Zach Colin; six grandchildren, Riley, Aiden, Willa, Aspin, Havannah, Michael Jr; five siblings, Paul (Janice) Dennison of Myrtle Beach, SC, Maria (Bill) Waugh of Irvington, KY, Bonnie (Larry) Riggs of Webster, KY, Nina Dennison of Corydon, IN, Sandy (Rick) Mann of Corydon, IN; his life partner of 28 years, Marilyn Colin and a host of extended family & friends. He was born on July 3, 1972, in Monmouth, Illinois, to the late Jr. Marr, and his loving mother, Kay Davis Marr, who survives. The family eventually moved to Rocky Hill, where Keith cherished many happy memories with his siblings, cousins and dear friends.
Keith was a 1990 graduate of Edmonson County High School, and a member of Liberty Methodist Church. He had a remarkable talent for crafting stunning, impressive cabinetry. His journey in woodworking began alongside his dad, Jr., creating beautiful reproduction furniture. Keith later teamed up with his dear friend, Leonard Lillard at Carroll Cabinet Company, and then developed his own business, Keith’s Custom Cabinets before working with Kight Kitchen and Design Center. What truly set Keith apart was his warm personality! He had a special way of making everyone feel like a friend and knew how to make the most of life. His infectious smile and positive energy lit up the room and brought joy to all who knew him. Besides his mother, Kay, he leaves to honor his memory— his daughter, Molly Grace Marr of Louisville; siblings, Teresa King (Charles) of Smiths Grove, Vonda Marr of Chalybeate and Kevin Marr (Melinda) of Rocky Hill; his girlfriend, Martha Martinez of Bowling Green; uncle, Gary Marr (Marlene) of Pig, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends that will forever miss him. Shirley was a cherished member of Basil Chapel United Baptist Church. She found immense joy in being so innovative, including crafting beautiful handmade items, preparing delicious meals, and sewing intricate garments. Most importantly, she treasured the time spent with her family, creating lasting memories. In addition, her dedication to the community was evident through her role as a grandparent volunteer at Hiseville Elementary, where she inspired and uplifted the lives of children. She leaves to honor her memory— her loving daughters, Theresa Jones (David) of Horse Cave and Marcia Payne (Tommy) of Smiths Grove; eight grandchildren, Christopher Dennison, Britt Jones, Abby Hadden (Clint), Zach Payne (DeAnna), Josh Payne (Paige), Ben Raymer, Blake Raymer and Bryce Raymer; nine great grandchildren and one great grandbaby arriving soon; two great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Doris Ward. Tommy's heart was first joined with Mary Ann Brooks, with whom he shared many beautiful years until her passing on June 9, 2011. In the years that followed, he found companionship with his wife, Seretta Rich, and they spent many precious moments together with their families.
Tommy proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a time that undoubtedly shaped his character and convictions. After returning home, he and his brother took over Brooks Saw Mill, his father's cherished business, demonstrating their commitment to family and hard work. With determination, Tommy later established his own business, skillfully operating heavy equipment. Throughout his life, Tommy was a devoted member of Hill Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he not only led singing but also served as the moderator for many years. His legacy of service, dedication, and leadership continues to inspire those who knew him. Besides his wife, Seretta, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Marianna White (Jimmy) of Richardsville and Craig Brooks (Tajuana) of Mammoth Cave; a grandson, Mason J. Harold worked for numerous years with American Chain and Cable. He later joined the Edmonson County School District and retired from their maintenance department. Harold was a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church, where he contributed to the spiritual journeys of many individuals through the years. In his later days, Harold cherished the simple pleasures found swinging on his front porch. He often spent countless hours riding his tractor, and enjoying the peace and tranquility of his farm. Besides his wife, Shirley, he leaves to honor his memory— his stepson, Chris Newton (Jeanna); bonus daughter, Karen Brock (Paul); two grandchildren, Casey Baker (Chris) and Trevor Newton; bonus grandchildren, Caroline and Nick Brock; a sister, Lillian Wright; in-laws, Gerrald Luttrell, Juanita Sexton, Ronnie Glass (Louise) and Debbie Poynter (Ricky), along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Anthony and Stanley Johnson, and two sisters, Zella Bullock and Brenda Luttrell. The interment will be in Johnson Cemetery.
