​Mildred D. Webb Massey, 58, of Bowling Green passed away at 6:42 PM April 28, 2017 at Signature HealthCARE of Bowling Green.

The Edmonson County native was the daughter of the late Paul Kenneth Webb and Mary Magdelene Hunt Webb Putnam. she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Webb.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Gravil Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at Noon Monday.

Surviving are three daughters, Amber Webb and Mary Massey both of Russellville and Kimberly Massey of Louisville; two brothers, Eddie Webb of Bee Spring and Mike Putnam of Louisville; and six grandchildren.

​Richard Lee "Rick" Russell Jr., 47, of Brownsville passed away at 3:30 PM April 25, 2017 at his home.

The Jefferson County native was a flooring specialist for Russell & Son Flooring and was a youth league coach. He was a son of Richard Lee Russell Sr. of Louisville, who survives, and the late Sharon Ann Shaw Russell.

Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Thursday, 9 AM-9 PM Friday and after 9 AM Saturday.

​James A. "Jimmy" Miller, 71, of Roundhill passed away at 3:05 AM April 26, 2017 at his home.
 
The Edmonson County native was a coal miner. He was the son of the late James Melvin Miller and Syble Tomes Miller and the husband of the late Ruby Dickerson Miller.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Slate Bank Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday.

Lillian Carroll, age 87, of Bee Spring, KY, departed this life on Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Brownsville, KY. The Edmonson County native was born August 15, 1929 to the late Wilbert and Ethel Whobrey VanMeter. She was married to the late Guy Marlow Carroll.

Lillian retired as a seamstress for Kellwood Manufacturing and was of the Baptist Faith.

She leaves to honor her memory, four daughters, Sue Renfro (Sammy) of Chalybeate, KY, Mearedia Gross (Will) of Alvaton, KY, Lauretta Jaggers (Tony) of Bowling Green, KY, and Sandra Carroll of Franklin, KY; two grandchildren, Jay Madison (Stephanie) and Kim Renfro; five great grandchildren, Brandon Hogan (Ashlie), Whitney Moon (Joey), Michael Madison, Dakota Madison (Jordan Masters) and Daniel Pereira; five great-great grandchildren, Adrianna Ray, Austin Hogan, Rayleigh Moon, Madelyn Hogan, Braxton Moon; several step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Lillie Phillips, age 96, of Bee Spring, KY, departed this life on Friday, April 21, 2017 in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on April 5, 1921 to the late Rev. Elza and Ella Jaggers. She was married to Lenvil Phillips who survives.

Lillie was a seamstress for Turner Industries and was a member of Cove Hollow United Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves to honor her memory, one son, Glen Connor (Edna) of Indiana; one step-daughter, Teresa Harrison (Ivan) of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Bernice Carroll of Salem, KY, and Loraine Blanton of Brownsville, KY; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and several great grandchildren. ​Charles William Bullock, age 92, of Brownsville, KY departed this life on Friday, April 21, 2017 in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on October 13, 1924 to the late William Emmons and Nelphia Winchell Bullock. He was married to the late Ruth Johnson Bullock.

Charles was an operator for Ford Motor Company and a WWII Air Force veteran. He was also a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church.

He leaves to honor his memory, two sons, James W. Max W. Vincent, age 87, of Gulfport, MS formerly of Mammoth Cave, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Gulfport, MS. The Edmonson County native was born August 21, 1929 to the late David Ted Vincent and Clara Brown Kerr.  He was married to Velena “Dee” Vincent, who survives.

Max was a retired park ranger with Mammoth Cave National Park Service.  He  was in the United States Air Force for 21 years, where he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of Ollie United Baptist Church, Cub Run Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW. 

Besides his wife he leaves to honor his memory, one son, Bruce G. Vincent of Gulfport, MS; two granddaughters, Sara E. Williams (Nick) and Amanda Clemons and one sister, Scotty L. Bond (Rudy). He was also preceded in death by two sons, David L. Vincent and James L. Petit and two brothers, Cecil and Lama Vincent.

Interment will be in Vincent Cemetery with military graveside honors by Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW.

​After a brief illness, David L. Webb, age 74, of Brownsville, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 26, 1942 to the late Fred T. and Lula Myrtle Webb.  He was married to his devoted wife of almost 57 years,  Ann Vincent Webb, who survives. 

David was saved as a child at Fairview United Baptist Church.  He was a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as the adult Sunday School teacher.  He received his Rank I from Western Kentucky University, and retired as Superintendent of Edmonson County  and Logan County School Systems.  David was passionate about education.  He  worked with Alliance, and was a former board member for the Kentucky Board of Education and KHSAA Board of Control.

Besides his wife,  he is survived by two sons, Tommy Webb (Barbara) of Brownsville and Craig Webb (Louise) of Bowling Green; one daughter, Barbara Menefee (Scott) of Louisville; one brother, Donald B. Webb of Bowling Green and one sister, Ethel Cooke of Brownsville, KY; four grandchildren, Christopher Scott Menefee, Joshua David Menefee, Paige Elizabeth Menefee and Lukas David Webb and one great grandchild, Camryn Elizabeth Menefee.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Spillman.

Judy was an aide at local nursing homes and a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church.

On April 6, 2017, Tom's devoted wife Sharon Osborn Flowers, his son Lee Flowers, daughter Kristy Flowers and grandson Joshua were by his side as he passed peacefully from their arms into our Lord's.
 
He had fought and won a courageous battle with lymphoma. He fought valiantly like a tough MARINE would. 
He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War Era.
 
Tom was preceded in death by his daughter,  Dawn Elizabeth Flowers and his son, Thomas Charles,  "Butch" Flowers II.
 
Two brothers , James Patterson and Richard Lee Patterson two sisters Peggy Miller and Florence Louise Huard. 
 
He leaves to cherish his memories ....loving wife Sharon,  their son Richard Lee Flowers and daughter Kristen Laura Flowers. Daughter Denise Flowers. 
 
Thirteen grandchildren that he adored, Amanda, Crystal, Jessica, Dalton, Nathan, Joshman, Adam, Jason, Chelsea, Kasee, Brian and Bradley, Tonya.  Two step sons, Victor M and Christopher B Anderson.  Eleven Great Grand children.

Tom is survived by his brothers Robert M Patterson and Charles V flowers.  Sisters Della Stockton,  Kathy Patterson and Delores Hamilton. 
 
Tom had moved back to Kentucky to reunite and complete his family again. This was his greatest pleasure and what he was most thankful for in life. 
 
No matter where he was,  his love for the water was intense, his ability to catch fish was amazing. He would want everyone to laugh, giggle and remember those fishing stories. He has so many with countless family and friends. "Hey... Watch this!"
 
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY. 

​Following the service, a gathering will be held at his home.

​James William Jones, age 84, of Brownsville departed this life on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born December 12, 1932 to the late Rev. Johnny and Lucy Hazelip Jones. He was married to Nelda Jean Pardue Jones, who survives.

James was a farmer, and a devoted member and trustee of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church.

He leaves to honor his memory one sister-in-law, Wynonna Jones of Brownsville; four nephews, Tommie Jones, Mickey Jones, Roger Jones and Ronnie Jones and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Paul Jones and Rev. Vida Lindsey Tomes, 95, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. She was born January 11, 1922 in Butler Co., KY, was a retired administrative assistant with the old Belknap Hardware Co., and a member of Birchwood Ave. Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; William P. Lindsey and Emma Bolton Lindsey, her husband; H.M. Tomes, and her son Richard K. Tomes.

She is survived by her children; Regina F. Johnson (Jim) of Lexington and Robert W. Tomes (Debbie) of Louisville; her daughter in law, Carolyn Enos; her 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; her sister Jeanetta Harbinson, and 2 brothers; Tuck and Donald Lindsey and extended family.

Jessie was a manager of women’s clothing stores and a member of  Bee Spring  Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a former member of Green River Easter Star.

Sarah Frances Parker, age 96, of Owensboro, formerly of Park City, KY, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional System after a short illness.

She was a life long member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Park City, KY.

Sarah was born February 23, 1921 to Harry and Lola Haydon. She was a former employee of Park Mammoth, Treasure Chest and Nevilles Finer Food. Sarah enjoyed gardening, yard work, UK basketball, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and beating her opponent at rummy.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Parker, and siblings Charles Haydon and Catherine Davidson.

The Edmonson County native was a retired secretary for Forest Hills Church of Christ in Cleveland Heights, OH, a homemaker and was a member of Donelson Church of Christ. She was a daughter of the late Harold Hazelip and Maggie Ferguson Hazelip and the wife of the late Bob Willison.

She was a office clerk for the National Park Concession and was a office manager for ADM. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and former member of Barren County Homemakers.

Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter Carmen Gentile (Jesse) of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Dustin Gentile (Sandra), Jessica Gentile, Nicholas Gentile all of Bowling Green; brother, Grover Stanley Gonterman (Joanie) of Columbus, GA; sister, Linda King (Bob) of Cave City; and several nieces and nephews.

William David “Bill” Taylor, age 68, of Bowling Green, Kentucky died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green surrounded by his family.

He was born July 6, 1948 in Russellville, Kentucky, the son of the late William Henry Taylor and the late Viola Brown Taylor.  He was the husband of Rita Childress Taylor of Bowling Green who survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and a 25 year retired employee of TVA at Paradise, KY.  He was a former employee of Rockwell in Russellville, KY, a retired board member of the Lewisburg Housing Authority and member of Union Light Missionary Baptist Church in Mammoth Cave, Ky.

Besides his wife he is survived by son, Keith (Karen) Taylor of Lewisburg, KY; daughter, Veronica (Ron) Burchett of Bowling Green, KY;  and stepsons, Derek Boothe of Bowling Green, KY and Ryan Boothe of South Carolina; grandchildren, Joshua Graves, Blake Taylor, Abby Boothe, Kaitlyn Burchett, Allie Boothe, Jordan Graves and Tyler Burchett.

Also surviving are brother, Roy (Betty Sue) Taylor of Russellville, KY, sister, Virginia “Jenny” (J.D.) James A. "Cy" Herald, 87, of Sweeden passed away at 10:45 AM April 2, 2017 at Edmonson Center.

The Edmonson County native was a retired dozer operator and an army veteran of the Korean War. He was a son of the late Willie Herald and Mary Woosley Herald.

Ernest Logsdon, age 96, of Mammoth Cave, KY departed this life on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County, KY native was born on October 24, 1920 to the late Willie Logsdon and Rosa Jaggers. 

Ernest was a farmer and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Florinda Mills (Bill) of Morgantown, KY; one granddaughter, Holly Hawk (Don) of Washington Court House, OH; two grandsons, William Mills of Morgantown, KY, and Danny Mills (Jesica) of Owensboro, KY; six great grandchildren, Travis Hawk of Germany, Skyler Hawk of Paris Island, SC, Wendy Hawk of Washington Court House, OH, Jenna Mills of Monticello, KY, Orriana Mills of Monticello, KY, Audrey Mills of Owensboro, KY; three nieces and several relatives around Edmonson County.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Orville, Elmer and Tommy Logsdon.

Interment will be in  Hill Grove Church cemetery.
