Susan Elizabeth Drury, 69, of Segal passed away at 10:23 PM Tuesday April 28, 2020 at her home.
The Jefferson County native was a homemaker and member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a daughter of the late Raymond T. Drury and Mary Beatrice Bohannon Drury. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Drury and Charles "Chippy" Drury and two sisters, Patricia Bradley and Janice Houchins. Services will be private. Surviving are her companion, Larry Davis; a daughter, Barbara Keen (Richard) of Segal; a son, Brian Davis of Segal; three sisters, Rosie Drury and Janie Pottinger (Gaylen) both of Louisville and Connie Stroud (Johnny) of New Albany, IN; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Keen and Wesley Keen; and several nieces and nephews. Willie "Bill" Jaggers, 85, of Mammoth Cave passed away at 3:30 AM Wednesday April 22, 2020 at Signature Health Care in Horse Cave.
The Edmonson County native was a farmer and a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Cub Run. He was a son of the late Thomas Lee Jaggers and Mary Hilda Sanders Jaggers and the husband of the late Lorene Allen Jaggers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilburn "Tooter" Jaggers. Services will be private. Burial will take place in Union Light Cemetery. Surviving are two sons, Garry Jaggers and Barry Jaggers both of Mammoth Cave; a nephew, James Sanders (Christina) of Mammoth Cave; a niece, Jennifer Lindsey (David) of Lindseyville; a grandson, Jason Stevenson; and three great grandchildren, Mason Stevenson, Blake Stevenson and Layla Stevenson. James H. “Jim” Campbell, age 99, of Cave City passed away on April 18, 2020 at Signature Healthcare of Hart County. The Clothier, WV native was born on July 1, 1920 to the late Efrom Campbell and Mary Salers Campbell, and was the last surviving of their eight children. Jim was married to Wanda Campbell, who also preceded him in death.
Jim served his country during WWII with Company A303 Signal Battalion. He fought in The Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Counteroffensive. He received two Bronze Stars and a good conduct medal. He worked a entry level job for Precision Rubber Company, and worked his way up the ladder to plant manager. In later years he owned and ran small motels, Park View and Oakes Motel, with his wife, Wanda, in the Cave City area. He was a proud member of Highland Methodist Church, and was active in many projects over the decades. He was also a member of Portland Masonic Lodge, for over fifty years-- the world’s first and largest fraternity based on the belief that each man can make a difference in the world. Jim was very dedicated to the local food pantry, and was instrumental in acquiring provisions for the Pathfinders Organization, which provides food to Cave City residents in need. He leaves to honor his memory— two daughters, Audrey Johnson and Sue Bowen of Ohio; stepchildren, Garry Powell of Virginia and Karen Marks and son-in-law Henry of Tennessee; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sons, James Oakley Campbell and his step-son, Bill Lawson. Interment will be in Ezel Cemetery in Ezel, KY. Tommy retired as a union steward from Teamsters Local 89 & Pipeliners Local Union 798. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and Pleasant Union United Baptist Church. Tommy was very genuine and cherished his family, most especially his grandchildren.
