James L. "Jim" Risen, 78

James L. "Jim" Risen, 78, of Bee Spring passed away at 12:30 PM May 26, 2021 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
 
The Green County native was a machine operator for P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. and an ordained minister of the gospel. He was the son of Dewey C. Johnson of Louisville, who survives and the late Wilma Muhrl Risen and the husband of the late Helen Johnson Risen. He was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Johnson.
 
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Old Jock Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Wednesday.
 
Also surviving are three daughters, Debbie Kendrick of Fairdale, Vickie Huffman of Mt. Washington and Renea Hunt Cilone (Kevin) of Mammoth Cave; two sons, James L. "Jimmy" Risen Jr. and George Tracy Hunt both of Bee Spring; six loving grandchildren, Michael Huffman (Lynda) and Chris Huffman both of Mt. Washington, Trista L. Welch (Sam) of Campbellsville, Crystal Bratcher (Jimmy) and Dustin Hunt both of Bee Spring and Tiffany Coots (Austin) of Brownsville; 11 great grandchildren, Devin Jones, Alex Huffman, Abi Huffman, Jessica Huffman, Kearstin Huffman, Katie Huffman, Cole Huffman, Chase Coots, Lincoln Coots Aspen Coots and Leyla Bratcher; three great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson Jones, Messiah Sauer and Ryder Elble; and his best friend, Lavonda Large.

Sue Herald Duvall, 89, of Sweeden passed away Sunday May 23, 2020 at her daughter's home.
 
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a member of New Home General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Emmit Herald and Martha Jane Vincent Herald and the wife of the late Kelly D. Duvall. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Eulas Herald, Garvice Herald, Lewis Herald, Shirley Herald and Nada Hardin.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Duvall Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Wednesday and after 11:00 AM Thursday.
 
Surviving are two daughters, Yvonne Glass (John Baynes) of Leitchfield and Dalane Duvall (Larry Highbaugh) of Sweeden; and several nieces and nephews.

Robin Lynn Priddy, age 55

Robin Lynn Priddy, age 55, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (April 14, 2021) at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro.
 
She was born on November 26, 1965 in Heidelberg Germany, the daughter of Rondell Priddy and the late Frances Elizabeth Harris Priddy.
 
She reviewed books for different authors. She also had worked as a manager for Minit Mart in Smith Grove. Robin enjoyed reading, baby sitting for her nieces, nephews and other children in the family and was a care-giver for her mother. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
 
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Rondell and Vicki Priddy of Leitchfield; sister, Shawn Mertz (Shaun) of Hendersonville, Tennessee and their children, Hannah and Grace; brothers, Allan Priddy (Lindsey) of Bowling Green and their children, Lincoln, Laura and Miles, and Eric Priddy (Emily) of Owensboro and their children, Charlie and Abigail.
 
Other than her mother, Frances Elizabeth Priddy, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Priddy and nephew, Jason Priddy.
 
Cremation was chosen at Robin’s request. There will be a Memorial Graveside Service Saturday, June 19th, 2021 at Otter Gap Cemetery at 1PM.
 

Garland Kenneth Childress, 88

Garland Kenneth Childress, 88, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort KY.  Garland was born August 25, 1932 to the late Walter “Pete” Childress and Alice Jones Childress in Cub Run, KY.
 
Garland served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was an avid storyteller and loved to talk about old cars and combustion engines.  He and his beloved wife spent 61 years doing genealogical research traveling all over the country meticulously searching through old paper documents and microfilm.  He recently donated their research to the Hart County Historical Society in Munfordville, KY.
 
Other than his parents, Garland was preceded in death by his wife, Leda Childress whom he married August 17, 1953 and his son Timothy Keith Childress  October 3, 1957.  He is survived by his sister, Dana Childress Rorer of Lawrenceburg, Ky and several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
 
Visitation will be at Thursday, May 27th from 11am-1pm with the funeral service beginning at 1pm at the Sego Funeral Home.  Burial will in the Cub Run Cemetery.
 
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Cub Run Cemetery fund, P.O. Box 637, Munfordville, KY 42765

Andrew Denham, age 72

Andrew Denham, age 72 of Brownsville, departed this life on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  The Edmonson County native was born on November 1, 1948 to the late Conard and Edna Campbell Denham.  He was married to Teresa Cook Denham, who survives.

Andrew was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War era.  He retired from DESA, after working for forty years.  He was a member of the Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post # 6937 VFW and Oak Grove United Baptist Church. 

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory— two sons, Jason Denham (Jackie) of Louisville and Joey Denham (Amanda) of Brownsville; one daughter, Jennifer Brizendine (Matt) of Crestwood; two step-sons, Timmy Hymer and Jason Bostick (Jennifer); thirteen grandchildren, Cody Hymer, Katie Bostick, Courtney Lewis (Ryan), Jacob, Addison, Harper, Jude, Josie, Jesse, Julian, Jordyn, Dawson and Brocton; two great-grandchildren, Lyla Grace and Everleigh Mae and one nephew, Chris Johnson (Tonya).  Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Johnson.

Gloria Dean Smith, age 82 of Bee Spring, departed this life on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on May 28, 1938 to the late Claud and Norine Vincent.  She was married to Wendell Smith, who preceded her in death.

Gloria was a homemaker, and cared for the needs of her family.  She was a member of  First Love General Baptist Church. 

She leaves to honor her memory— one daughter, Robbin Smith of Bee Spring; four sons, Ted Smith (Sandy Vincent) of Brownsville, Timmy Smith (Lisa) of Bee Spring, Dave Smith (Marie Carroll) of Brownsville and Daniel Smith (Miranda) of Scottsville; five grandchildren, Jason Smith, Heather Nunn (Kevin), Jennifer Cook, Rosalyn Smith and Katie Smith; six great-grandchildren and one sister, Judy VanMeter.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Cova Vincent, and her step-father, Matthew York. 

Interment will be in Vincent Cemetery.

Lena I. York, 73, of Brownsville passed away peacefully at 1:40 AM Wednesday May 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
 
The Edmonson County native was a sewing machine operator for Kentucky Pants Factory in Glasgow and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Glasgow. She was a daughter of the late Aven Leroy Wilson and Helen Irene Lindsey Wilson and the wife of the late Gene Vibbert. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Wilson and three brothers-in-law, Robert Warren, J.R. York and Gary Conley.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Fairview United Baptist Church. Visitation will take place 2-7 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Saturday at the church.
 
Surviving are her husband, Gary L. York; two daughters, Lisa York (William) of Rhoda and Jeanne Vibbert (Sonny Doan) of Mammoth Cave; three sisters, Patricia Cowles (Richard) of Chalybeate, Brenda Warren of Rhoda and Barbara Conley of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Jessica Lindsey (Brandon), Jamie Whiteside, and Morgan Meredith (Jacob Dukes); three great grandchildren, Shane Lindsey, Parker Lindsey and Ayvan Lindsey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maggie Vincent Bird Meredith, age 94 of Brownsville, departed this life on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in Corydon, IN. The Edmonson County native was born on April 12, 1927 to the late Andrew “Jack” and Lillie M. Lashley Vincent. She was married to the late Raymond Bird and Bradley Meredith, Jr.

Maggie was former employee of Enrose Shirt Factory and Lake Buena Vista Palace Hotel. She was a member of Ollie United Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory—-one son, Thomas Bird of Palmyra, IN; five daughters, Mary Jo McGlasson (Robert) of Fern Creek, Eva Jerome (Bill) of Brandenburg, Latricia Ewen (Kevin) of Apoka, FL, Vickie Janicki (Don) of Ocala, FL and Genive Atkinson (Sam) of Belize, South America; fifteen grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded by her granddaughter, Latricia Janicki and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Bird.

Interment will be in Kyrock Church Cemetery.

Martha Faye Hornback, 63, of Mammoth Cave passed away Tuesday May 11, 2021 at University Hospital in Louisville.
 
The Rome, GA native was a homemaker. She was a daughter of the late David Hartsfield and Ova Lee Blalock Hartsfield and the wife of the late Marshall Hornback. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda McGinnis.
 
No public services are scheduled at this time. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Mangum (Alex) of Fort Worth, TX and Tracy Hornback of Mammoth Cave; a son, Andy Hornback of Mammoth Cave; a sister, Sandra Miller of Calhoun, GA; two brothers, Doug Hartsfield (Vickie) and Roger Hartsfield (Karon Tidwell) both of Cartersville, GA; and four grandchildren, Austin Meredith, Scotty Kelley, Alex Kelley and Isabella Hornback.

Carolyn Johnson Priddy, age 77

Carolyn Johnson Priddy, age 77 of Mammoth Cave, departed this life with her family by her side on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.  She was born in Pascal, KY on December 5, 1943 to the late Thurman and Margaret Bennett Johnson.  Carolyn was married for fifty-eight years to her best friend and help mate, Nathan Priddy, who survives.

Carolyn fulfilled many roles for her family.  She was a homemaker, seamstress, and farmer, but her most fulfilling job was caring for her family and being their wife, mother, and Mamaw.  She was a faithful member of Union Light Missionary Baptist Church. 

Besides her husband, Nathan, she leaves to honor her memory— two daughters, Sherry Sanders (Dwayne) and Lisa Sanders (Rickey) all of Mammoth Cave; two grandchildren, Sean Sanders (Sylvia) and Heather Deweese (Clay) all of Mammoth Cave; three great-grandchildren, Harper and Georgia Deweese and Rafe Sanders; two brothers, Harold Johnson (Mabel) of Cave City and Steve Johnson (Beverly) of Hiseville; two sisters, Linda Morrison (James) of Hiseville and Mary Harper (Richard) of Glasgow.  She was also preceded in death by one brother, Courtney Johnson.

Daejanay Sowders-Sharer, age 21 of Bowling Green, departed this life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in Chicago, IL.  The Jefferson County native was born on April 20, 2000 to Amber Sowders and Jameel Bibbs.  She was married to Joseph Sharer, who survives.

Daejanay had a beautiful voice, and enjoyed singing all genres of music.  She was a member of Faith Covenant Ministries.

Besides her husband and her parents, she leaves to honor her memory— five brothers, Ethan Sowders, Antonio Sowders, Silethel Sowders, Jataj Lewis and Augustine Sowders; five sisters, Esperanza Sowders, Jamia Bibbs, Journee Bibbs, Zari Bibbs and Alondra Sowders; maternal grandmother, Judy Sowders of Bowling Green; her nana,  Tracy Bibbs-Butler (Floyd) of Chicago; fraternal grandfather, John Williams of Louisville and fraternal great-grandmother, Laverne Bibbs of Louisville.

Interment will be in Threlkel Cemetery.

Troy Dean Gipson, 72

Troy Dean Gipson was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on August 1, 1948, the beloved son of Mildred Jaggers Gipson and Cal Gipson. At the age of 72 years, nine months, and three days, he left behind his weakened body on May 4, 2021, in Louisville, Kentucky.


Shortly before his eleventh birthday, Troy Dean was saved at a revival held by Brother Elza Jaggers and Brother Barney Beckner and joined Cove Hollow United Baptist Church, where he remained a member for the rest of his life.

Troy Dean went to Cub Run High School and Edmonson County High School, where he graduated in 1966. A few months after his graduation, he started working at General Electric in Louisville and retired from there in 2001.

He met and fell in love with Helen Fay Blaney, and they were married in March of 1969. Their son Michael Joseph was born in October 1969 and became the light of his parents’ and grandparents’ lives. After Helen passed away prematurely in 1981, Troy Dean raised Michael by himself and never remarried, choosing instead to be a father and later a best friend to his son and grandson.

Troy Dean enjoyed music of all kinds but especially classic rock, folk, and bluegrass and was an avid record collector. He loved history and visiting historical sites. He had a kind, easygoing way and was a loyal friend with a wicked sense of humor.

Troy Dean leaves behind his son Michael; his dear grandson Sean; his special friend Jan Upchurch; two aunts, Helen Claycomb and Eva Ruth Oltman; many cousins; and countless friends, including his breakfast buddies.

Galatians, Chapter 5:22-23 reads, “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”.
 
A public walk-through visitation is scheduled for 12-2 PM Saturday May 15 at Gravil Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM

Jonathan Mark Ashley, 74

Jonathan Mark Ashley, 74, of Brownsville passed away Sunday May 9, 2021 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was retired Greenview Regional Hospital transporter, an assistant funeral director for Burgess Moody & Gravil Funeral Home in Bowling Green and Gravil Funeral Home in Brownsville, a 52-year member and Past Master of Washington Meredith Lodge #355 F&AM, a veteran of the US Army Kentucky National Guard and a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, Sunday School teacher and song leader. He was a son of the late Ewing G. Ashley and Ruth Ellen Lindsey Ashley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Granville Ashley and David Ashley; a sister, Isabelle Vincent; and six nephews, Jeffrey Vincent, Don Ashley, Mallory Vincent, Derrick Ashley, Ashley Knox and Mark Knox.
 
A public walk-through visitation is scheduled for 2-7 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home. Funeral services are private. A Masonic service will take place at Pleasant Union Cemetery with burial to follow.
 
Surviving are his wife, Becky Shufelt Ashley; a daughter, Stacie Lynne Ashley of Bowling Green; two sisters, Geraldine Madison and Evelyn Knox both of Lindseyville; a granddaughter, Sydney Ellen McPherson of Brownsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Lola Mae Clark, 92

Lola Mae Clark, 92, of Louisville, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 6, 2021. She was born in Edmonson County, Kentucky on August 24, 1928 to the late Hannibal and Lena Hardin.

Lola loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Valley View Baptist Church. She enjoyed working at Baer Fabrics for over thirty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years William E. Clark, daughter; Portia Goodyear, grandson; Joshua Goodyear, sisters; Irene Hamblen, Macie Denham, Novella Seabolt, Carol Jean Hardin, brothers, Virgil, Randall, Rinzo, H.M, Harold, David and Jerry Hardin.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Steve Clark(Carol), Gayle Albro, Bridgett Quinlan(Patrick), eight grandchildren; Michael Clark, Chris Albro(Heather), Karen Swift, John Albro, Sarah McKay(John), Daniel Quinlan and Katie Quinlan, brothers; Charles Edward Hardin(Marthe) and Larry Joe Hardin(Elaine), eighteen great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Lola was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy. Louisville, Kentucky 40219 with burial to follow at Cub Creek Cemetery in Brownsville, Kentucky.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 3pm-8pm at the funeral home.

Lucinda Wolfe Davis, age 98, of Cub Run, departed this life on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her home. The Blanchard, OK native was born on January 28, 1923 to the late George Washington Wolfe and Zella Delmar Coffelt Wolfe. She was married to Ervin Davis, who also preceded her in death.

Lucinda was a Seamstress for Mammoth Cave Garment and a member of Union Light Missionary Baptist Church.  

She leaves to honor her memory-- daughter, Doris Davis of Cub Run; son, Rondald Davis (Sherrian) of Mammoth Cave; granddaughter, Selina Kerr of Mammoth Cave; great grandson, Zachary Druen of Mammoth Cave and several nieces and nephews.

The Edmonson County native was a Sunfish High School graduate, a retired Philip Morris Mechanic and a US Army veteran. He was a son of the late Dudley W. Sanders Sr. and Ann Vorkapich Sanders. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Sanders; two brothers, William "Sonny" Sanders and Charles Lee "Chick" Sanders; and a sister, Linda Theobold.

The Edmonson County native was an owner of Edmonson County Custom Kill Meat Processing. She was the daughter of the late Ava Heath and Lorene Higgs Heath.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday at New Home General Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2-7 PM Saturday and 12-7 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home.

Surviving are her husband, Harry Barth; two sons, Rocky Barth (Frances) of Louisville and Ed Barth (Melissa) of Port Orange; five grandchildren, Olivia Barth, Brian Barth (Whitney), Sarah Justis (Chase), Heath Barth (Jennifer), and Brittany Shields (Scott); and eight great grandchildren.

Cora S. Turner, age 99 of Smiths Grove, departed this life on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Genesis Edmonson Center. The Edmonson County native was born on April 20, 1922 to the late Rev. Charlie and Millie Highbaugh Sanders.  She was married to Carl Turner, who preceded her in death.

Cora was a housewife and former seamstress at Fruit of the Loom.  She was an active member of Fairview United Baptist Church and Capitol Hill Homemakers until her health failed her and she wasn’t able to participate. 

She leaves to honor her memory—five sisters, Daphna Sanders of Rhoda, Barbara Watt (Billy) of Oakland, Betty Childress (Michael) of Munfordville and Cleo Brown (Bill) of Mammoth Cave; two brothers, Oda Sanders (Rosalee) of Pig and Billy Sanders (Barbara) of Mammoth Cave, along with several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Christine Gipson, Delta Sanders and Josie Taylor and three brothers, Clarence, Japath and Duel Sanders.

Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery.

Anna June Sanders, age 78

Anna June Sanders, age 78 of Mammoth Cave, departed this life on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her residence.  The Ft. Knox native was born on July 4, 1942 to the late Robert Earl and Dorothy Burba White.  She was married to Clifton Sanders, who survives.

Anna was an assistant for Mammoth Cave Post Office and a  cashier for Sanders Reality & Auction.  She was a member of Ollie United Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves to honor her memory—-one son, Donnie Sanders of Mammoth Cave; two grandchildren, Scott Sanders of Mammoth Cave and Darren Sanders (T.J.) of Cub Run; three great-great grandchildren, Hannah Sanders, Emma Sanders and Ellie Sanders; one brother, Robert Earl White, Jr. (Marcella) of Park City and one sister, Brenda Ulmer of Louisville.

Interment will be in Ollie Cemetery.

Virginia Barbee Houchin, age 88

Virginia Barbee Houchin, age 88 of Cedar Springs, departed this life on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her residence.  The Edmonson County native was born on May 18, 1932 to the late Omer and Lillie Parker Barbee.  She was married to George Albert “ Tubby” Houchin, who survives.

Virginia was a housewife, and also worked in retail at a women’s clothing store.  She was a member of Capitol Hill Homemakers, and Cedar Springs United Baptist Church. 

Besides her husband, she leaves to honor her memory— two children, Royce Houchin of Smiths Grove and Marilyn Willis (Dallas) of Whitehouse, TN; two grandchildren, Robin Coots (Dale) and Tyra Palmer (Justin); three great-grandchildren, Austin Coots (Tiffany), Knox and Beau Palmer and three great-great grandchildren, Lincoln and Aspen Coots and Chase Coots.  She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter and her husband, Christy Lindsey Lucas and  her husband Grover and three siblings, Alvin and Bro. Belvy Barbee and Patsy Demunbrun.

Thomas Cassady, age 91 of Brownsville, departed this life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on October 12, 1929 to the late James Willie and Mary Campbell Cassady.  He was married to Chloie Emogene Key Cassady, who preceded him in death. 

Thomas was a United States Army veteran and served during the Korean War.  He worked in construction and for Key Oil Company.  He was a member of Beaver Dam United Baptist Church. 

He leaves to honor his memory— one son, Dale Cassady (Kayla) of Bowling Green; one daughter, Karen Cline (Johnie) of Brownsville; one grandson, Nicholas Lashley of Bowling Green; one granddaughter, Emily Gibson (Roy) of Bee Spring; four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Rance, Ethan and Emma Gibson; one sister, Eva Huffman of Brownsville and a special friend, Martha Resch of Bowling Green.  He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donita Lashley, one brother, Benny Cassady and three sisters, Maggie Cowles, Ella Mae Madison and Mary Sturdivant.

Elizabeth Joyce Massey, 80

Elizabeth Joyce Massey, 80 of Smiths Grove died Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Glenview Health Care.

The Warren County native was daughter of the late Grider and Rena West Kemble and wife of the late Roy Massey.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Kemble.  Joyce was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church, a sales representative for Modern Woodman and owner of the Smiths Grove Flavor Isle.  Joyce did a lot for her community from the students at North Warren Elementary to the customers she met at the Flavor Isle. 

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Joey Booker (Vickie) and daughter, Lesa Booker; four grandchildren, Bradley Booker, Ashley Booker, Natalie Booker and Wesley Booker; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Carter, Shelby Simpson and Norman Neagle; two brothers, Roland Kemble (Marilyn) and Robert Kemble (Linda); several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

There will be a walk through visitation from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Otter Gap Cemetery.  Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Gary Wayne Simmons, age 69

Gary Wayne Simmons, age 69 of Ankeny, Iowa, departed this life on April 28, 2021 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on August 12, 1951 in Louisville, KY to James Simmons and the late Marsetta Simmons. Gary was married to his soul-mate, Melissa Simmons, on June 26, 2015.

Gary loved his country and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a manager at Fresh Thyme Market. Gary was saved at Campbell’s Chapel United Baptist Church on March 28, 1967, and remained a member until his passing.

He is survived by his family, whom he adored— his wife, Melissa Simmons; three children, Marsetta Nicolocchia, Deborah Reyes (John) and Gary Simmons, Jr.; two step-children, Ben Phillips and Jessica Phillips; five grandsons; one great-granddaughter; his father, James Simmons (Jean); two brothers, Ricky Simmons (Della) and Tony Simmons and one sister, Gina Miller (Paul). Besides his mother, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Fitzwater.

Brenda Mae Elmore, 71, of Wingfield passed away April 29, 2021 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
 
The Edmonson County native was a retired WKU housekeeper. She was a daughter of the late Wesley Potter and Ella Mae Cowles Potter and the wife of the late Robert Elmore. She was preceded in death by nine siblings, James Edward Potter, Willadean Massey, Zelma Holder, Louise Wilson, Ralph Potter, Billy Potter, Chloe Weglowski, Marjorie Brennestuhl, and Thomas Potter.
 
Funeral will be held at 3:00 PM Monday at Wingfield United Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM-3 PM at the church.
 
Surviving are a son, Robert Shannon Elmore (Stacey) of Wingfield; her caregiver, Marsha Kelley of Shelbyville; two grandchildren, Karen Elmore and Bradley Vanzant; three great grandchildren, Ryker Lee Hinson, Conrad Chambers Vanzant and Maykenzee Vanzant; and several nieces and nephews.
